Putin orders start of Russian forces’ withdrawal from Syria

YNet News: “Putin, at a meeting in the Kremlin with his defense and foreign ministers, said the pullout should start from Tuesday. He also ordered that Russia intensify its role in the peace process to end the conflict in Syria.

But the Russian leader signaled Moscow would keep a military presence: he did not give a deadline for the completion of the withdrawal and said Russian forces would stay on at the port of Tartous and at the Hmeymim airbase in Syria’s Latakia province.”

Opinion: Keeping a presence – No deadline for withdrawal.

The exact opposite of President Obama:

June 23, 2011, President Barack Obama announced that all the 33,000 additional U.S. forces he ordered to Afghanistan in December 2009 will be home within 15 months.

October 11, 2011: President Obama announced on that the last American soldier would leave Iraq by the end of the year.

Somebody explain why a world leader would announce withdrawal plans in advance?

Mr. Putin’s motive is as clear today as it was when he engineered the US embarrassment over Assad’s massive chemical weapons stockpile leading to Obama’s feckless red line.

To remind everyone that the new sheriff is still is charge and that no major confrontation or war will start without Mr. Putin’s say so.

In response to numerous headlines predicting the start of World War III, our post  from last month “World War 3 Could Start This Month“, said this:

“If you have been coming to this site or have looked at Bible Prophecy 101 (home page) for any length of time, you will know that the order of end time events does not point to World War III at this time. However, two regional wars are prophesied take place prior to the tribulation, the second of which (War of Gog and Magog, Ez, 38-39) will be so extensive that it may be called a world war by military experts and the press. The final war called Armageddon will be a global war.”
