Rand Paul Calls For Susan Rice To Testify On Unmasking Trump Officials

The Daily Caller: GOP Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said he believes former National Security Advisor Susan Rice should testify before Congress on her request to unmask the names of Trump transition officials collected during routine intelligence-gathering operations.

“If it is allowed, we shouldn’t be allowing it, but I don’t think we should just discount how big a deal it is that Susan Rice was looking at these,” he told reporters Monday. “And she needs to be asked, ‘Did President Obama ask her to do this? Was this a directive from President Obama?  I think she should testify under oath on this.” more …

Opinion: Pshaw! A brand new Obama/Susan Rice scandal? Perish the thought!

June 2016: The DNC hired a private cybersecurity firm called CrowdStrike to determine who had hacked into their servers and absconded with often embarrassing emails, that were later released by WikiLeaks.

CrowdStrike said Russia was behind the hack.

July 2016: Intelligence agencies followed up, telling the White House that they had “high confidence” that Russia was behind the hack.

December 2016: CrowdStrike announced it had definitive evidence that the hackers who broke into the DNC servers were part of Russia’s military intelligence unit, called the GRU.

Smoking Gun: It has been determined that CrowdStrike never had access to DNC servers leaving the FBI to rely on 3rd party information.

According to Investors Business Daily “Evidence is growing that the Obama administration had an actual spying program on its domestic political opponents, namely the Donald Trump campaign. If so, it was more than just wrong — it was a crime.

Bloomberg national security correspondent Eli Lake reports that White House lawyers discovered last month that Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice sought the identities of “U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign.” Lake based his reporting on talks with sources that requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly.

All of this opens several questions at once:

  • Why did Susan Rice request the identities of U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign?
  • Who asked Susan Rice release to unmask names of Americans who were caught up in the DNC spying?
  • Did Susan Rice unmask Michael Flynn?
  • Will this latest Obama/Rice scandal be swept under the rug like all the others?

Was Donald Trump correct that he was indeed under surveillance illegally by Obama, and if so, will there finally be a special prosecutor appointed to get to the truth?

I am not holding my breath.

  1. Hahahahaha! It was worth the wait, wasn’t it, Author? I don’t always comment, but I always enjoy Vason’s comments. Hilarious! Yes, I do see a resemblance to Mr. Comey… maybe not physical, but… :o)
