BIN: In gratitude to US President Donald Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Jerusalem, the nascent Sanhedrin and the Mikdash (Temple) Educational Center are minting a replica of the silver half-shekel Biblically mandated to be donated by every Jewish male to the Temple.
“The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less, than the half shekel, when they give the offering of Hashem, to make atonement for your souls.” Exodus 30:15
Rabbi Hillel Weiss, Chairman of the Mikdash & Tsion Association that initiates the Temple reenactments and represents all the Temple movements, explained that the initial motivation for the putting the image of the US president on the coin was in gratitude for his support of Israel. more …
Opinion: King Cyrus of Persia (Iran) was prophesied by name 150 years before his birth:
“Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,
And he shall perform all My pleasure,
Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,”
And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid“ Isaiah 44:28.
In the first year of Cyrus’ reign, the 70-year captivity of the Jewish people was coming to an end, as prophesied in Jeremiah 28:10. Cyrus was prompted by God to decree that the Temple in Jerusalem should be rebuilt and that those Jews who wanted to might return to their land for that purpose.
Josephus, a Jewish historian, in his Antiquities 11.1.1-2:
“Stirred up the mind of Cyrus, and made him write throughout all Asia: ‘Thus says Cyrus the king: Since God Almighty has appointed me to be king of the habitable earth, I believe that he is that God which the nation of the Israelites worship; for indeed he foretold my name by the prophets, and that I should build him a house at Jerusalem, in the country of Judea.’ …. This was known to Cyrus by his reading the book which Isaiah left behind him of his prophecies; for this prophet said that God had spoken to him in a secret vision: ‘My will is, that Cyrus, whom I have appointed to be king over many and great nations, send back my people to their own land, and build my temple.’ This was foretold by Isaiah one hundred and forty years before the temple (Solomon’s temple) was demolished. Accordingly, when Cyrus read this, and admired the Divine power, an earnest desire and ambition seized upon him to fulfill what was so written”.
The nascent (coming into existence) Sanhedrin:
The current attempt (2004) to re-establish a Sanhedrin (house of scholars) is the sixth attempt in the last five hundred years, but unlike previous attempts, for the first time there seems to be wide consensus among the leading Rabbis living in Israel, that there is pressing need; a new temple must be built for the Messianic age.
(On November 10, 2016 the Sanhedrin requested that president-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin work together to help rebuild the Temple)
There are 70 members in the Sanhedrin, the same number as the table of nations (Genesis 10) and the same number of people (Genesis 26:47) who accompanied Jacob to Israel. The origin of the assembly is traced in the Mishna to the seventy elders whom Moses was directed, (Numbers 11:16-17 ) to associate with him in the government of the Israelites.
Enter Donald J. Trump:
Despite much criticism among Christian and Jewish leaders of Donald Trump, on December 6, 2017, the US president had the inspiration (Romans 13:1) and temerity to stand on the world stage and declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Like Cyrus, the world was/is forever changed.
It would be Artaxerxes, son of the Persian King Xerxes the Great, (grandson of Darius I and Atossa, daughter of Cyrus the Great) whose decree in 445 BC would begin the first 69 weeks of Daniel’s 70-weeks prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27), and Donald Trump’s declaration may be the decree that leads to the peace treaty beginning Daniel’s 70th week.
