Gulf News: Manama: Saudi Arabia has expressed its full support to the US, British and French military operations against targets in Syria.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the military strikes “came as a response to the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons against innocent civilians, including women and children”.
“The use of such internationally prohibited weapons is a continuation of the horrid crimes the regime has been committing for years against the Syrian people,” the source said, quoted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). more …
Opinion: My, we have some interesting friends today. France, who once denied US overflights for a 1986 bombing of Libya, joined in the attack on Syria. Our new best friends Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain give a thumbs up, and even Geraldo Rivera, who never misses an opportunity to bash Trump, was effusive in his praise of the attacks:
“I hope that we don’t stick around to build a nation here, but in terms of this military strike, I think it hit exactly what they wanted it to, the Syrian air defense capability was shown to be woeful in the face of our modern weapons, and it really does appear that there was no ‘wag the dog’ vibe from this. Nobody suspects that President Trump did this to distract from his domestic woes. This was, in every regard––I wouldn’t necessarily say Mission Accomplished, but I will say that Assad crossed the red line, Trump said, ‘Don’t cross the red line. If you do, you’re gonna be punished…’ And he was punished. He was hurt.”
But not all Trump supporters are happy:

- Michael Savage: We lost. War machine bombs Syria. No evidence Assad did it. Sad warmongers hijacking our nation.
International norms demand that civilized nations denounce the use of chemical weapons. At the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1997, 196 nations signed a treaty against their use. Had Trump ignored the attack, he would have been accused of missing another red line.
France and the US said there was positive proof of the Syrian government being responsible, but no proof is being shown as yet.
A few thousand years ago, an Apostle of Jesus Christ wrote (2 Timothy 3:1-5) that in the last days “Perilous times would come”. With so many dangerous actors operating in the Middle East and Israel in the middle, the next few months could be perilous indeed.
