Bloomberg: Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander Qassem Soleimani says his nation is ready to support Palestinian forces in the Gaza Strip, days after the U.S. recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Soleimani, commander of the Al Quds force, made the offer in a phone call late Monday with leaders of groups in Gaza, according to the Revolutionary Guard Corps’ website, Sepah News, which didn’t give details of the assistance proffered. Other forces in the region are ready to defend the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, Soleimani also told the Gaza faction leaders, without identifying them. The mosque is Islam’s third-holiest shrine and a frequent flashpoint for tensions between Israel and the Palestinians.
Opinion: If we have the war and sequence of unfulfilled prophecy correct, the reason Iran didn’t give details of the assistance proffered is because Iran is a financier, not a combatant, in the first of the two prophesied wars before the tribulation.
It is no secret that the primary financier of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria is Iran. And it is no secret that the prophet Asaph listed all three as part of an Arab assault on Israel 3000 years ago in a still-unfulfilled prophecy.
The motive for the Psalm 83 prophecy is found in verse 12:
“Let us take for ourselves
The pastures of God for a possession.”
Which is precisely why Esau wanted to kill his brother Jacob (Genesis 27:41):
“So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”
And precisely why the prophet Ezekiel 36:5 said this:
“therefore thus says the Lord God: “Surely I have spoken in My burning jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave My land to themselves as a possession, with wholehearted joy and spiteful minds, in order to plunder its open country.”
It has always been about the land.
