JPost: The Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague announced on Tuesday that the State of Palestine has joined it, becoming its 118th member state.
It is unclear how significant an achievement joining the PCA is, with the Palestinians likely to brandish it as supporting their joining the International Criminal Court, and Israel likely to underplay it.”
Opinion: Golda Meir: “There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not.”
We have discussed the origins of the Arabs who reside inside Israel in hundreds of posts, but since 1948, the world’s leaders have a fixed set of blinders on ignoring facts and even calling the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob “occupied”.
Palestinian leaders, like their Edomite predecessors, have had a singular goal of possessing Esau’s squandered birthright, Genesis 25:29-34.
The grudge held by Esau (Genesis 27:41) has not changed for 4000 years.
In 1947, the Arab world rejected the UN Partition Plan that would have created an Arab state and a Jewish state side by side.
In early May, 1948 the British Mandate over Israel ended. Prior to Israel’s statehood announcement, approximately 700,000 of 900,000 Egyptian and Jordanian refugees who resided in Israel were warned of a pending war. They were advised to flee the area, for they might be mistaken for Israelis.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Said declared, “We will smash the country with our guns and obliterate every place the Jews seek shelter in. The Arabs should conduct their wives and children to safe areas until the fighting has died down.”
Israel was born on May 14, 1948 and was attacked on the same day by Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. After the war, Egypt controlled the Gaza Strip and its more than 200,000 Egyptian inhabitants, but refused to allow them back into Egypt.
Jordan at first allowed its refugees to return with partial citizenship, but then assigned them into camps that became squalor, and by 2004, Jordan’s king began revoking citizenship and blocking any of its former citizens to return.
Lebanon, Syria and Iraq followed suit and the Arab refugees have since been used as pawns to recapture Esau’s birthright and eliminate Jacob, the state of Israel.
The Arab leaders of the made-up Palestinian people could have had a state inside Israel at any time over the last 68 years, but instead put forth impossible demands, including:
- Unwillingness to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist
- Israelis must stop building houses in their own capital
- The West Bank (including east Jerusalem/Temple Mount) must be Jew-free
- A Jew-free corridor between Judea and Gaza
- A demand to allow 5 to 13 million refugees back into Israel (right of return)
And there is more:
On December 8, 1949 UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) was formed to provide jobs on public works projects and direct relief for 652,000 Arab Palestinians.
In order to support the Arab side, UNRWA changed the definition of refugee. Historically, a refugee is someone forced to leave a permanent or habitual home. But, only for the Palestinian Arabs, it is defined as persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine between June 1946 and May 1948, who lost both their homes and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict.
But God will not be mocked and His Covenant will never change:
“Then the Angel of the Lord (Jesus) came up from Gilgal to Bochim (a place where the Israelites offered sacrifices), and said:“I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you.” Judges 2:1
