GracePointe Church in Nashville calls itself a progressive “Christian” church.
In their own words,

That is not the Gospel. That statement does not connect with being witnesses to Him to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
The Scriptures they disavow tell us that we are not inherently good since the fall of Adam and Eve, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—” Romans 5:12 and that God will judge the unrighteous ( those without the righteousness applied by the blood of Christ) “But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath? (I speak as a man.) Certainly not! For then how will God judge the world?” Romans 3:5-6
Jesus said, “…If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.” John 15: 20-22
Gracepointe tells its members to enjoy and share their lives. Jesus’ words are not about primarily enjoying your life. Actually, He stated that for His Name’s sake, we would be persecuted, and that because of His words (Scripture) we now have no excuse for sin.
That is why this un-Scriptural church is promoting rejection of truth from the Bible, so they “would have no sin” and live for the pleasure of their own lives.
Jesus Christ is the Truth. HE is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Christians do not look to ourselves for those things. We do not put our faith in ourselves to be those things. We do not try to be those things by doing good works. Rather, we abide in the Vine because we know He is those realities to us.
“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.” 2 Peter 2:1-2
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” Matthew 7:15
Just take “Christian” out of Gracepointe Church. The faith they promote is an experiential, or ‘felt”, faith. They are appropriating a name given to those who accept the Scriptures as true, accept the authority of Scripture as God’s revealed word, wherein He has a written revelation for every one who has a heart to seek Him.
Nowhere do Christians come to the truth about God without the Scriptures, Romans 10:17. It is in the Scriptures that we find over 300 prophecies perfectly predicting the birth, life and death of Jesus Christ. It is in the Scriptures where we find salvation for the Jew and Christian, and it is in the Scriptures where we find the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth.
Paganism, or natural reasoning and thought, cannot enlighten us or explain the world.
