Exposing the Connection: How Evolution Impacts Morality

Recently, Author and I spent a weekend at a Ken Ham conference on creation, evolution, morality, and most importantly, the authority of God’s Word versus man’s word.

Ham is a dedicated Christian whose mission in life is the defense of our faith, specifically in the creation of the universe as spoken into existence by God.  When believers dismiss Genesis 1–11 as myth or as unreliable, on what foundation can biblical doctrines stand? We are left with opinions, which at the root are just man’s ideas lifted up as an authoritative standard… if Christians believe the lie that Genesis cannot be trusted, they are paving the way for the trustworthiness of the gospel message to be called into question.

If the days of creation are really geologic ages of millions of years, then the gospel message is undermined at its foundation because it puts death, disease, thorns, and suffering before the Fall. The Bible makes it clear that death, bloodshed, disease, thorns, and suffering are a consequence of sin (Gen. 3:18-19).

“…the more generations are led to believe that the Bible’s account of history in Genesis is not true, and the more they are taught that man’s beliefs should be used to reinterpret the… Bible concerning origins, then the more such people will also reinterpret the morality of the Bible on the basis of man’s ideas,” Ken Ham.

Ken built the Creation Museum and the life-size replica of Noah’s Ark, the Ark Encounter, in Kentucky. His website is full of valuable information for Christian apologetics.
