SUNDAY STUDY: The Authority of Jesus Christ

Many Christian churches, leaders, and lay Christians are eliminating the authority of Jesus Christ as the only WAY to eternal life with God. They claim they believe in a loving God, but of the Gospel of the Cross , the atonement, the holy blood, the redemption, the justification through faith in Christ, they will no longer speak about.

There is NO Christianity without the Gospel of Jesus the Christ! (source)

All authority comes from God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and we are commanded to submit to Him (James 4:7).

All things are from God, through God, and to God, so He is the highest authority.

God the Father extended to His only begotten Son, Jesus, the Father’s full authority until everything the Father has planned for this Creation is completed.

Jesus’ 1,000-year reign will fulfill the prophecies given to Israel and the promises made about Jesus, the nations, and the whole earth. God’s covenants were voluntary and He promised He would bless Israel and restore the world in specific ways, and He will.

When the millennial reign of Jesus on earth has been completed, when all of God’s enemies, including death, have been destroyed, then Jesus will hand back the Kingdom and all authority to the Father.

PHILIPPIANS 2:9 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

EPHESIANS 1:18-23 that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

MATTHEW 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
