Today’s Study is a quick look at all of the gates into the Old City of Jerusalem. It is from Temple Mount.org and helps us to visualize this city which God calls His own:
1 KINGS 11:36 ” … Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there.”
2 CHRONICLES 6:6 ” … Yet I have chosen Jerusalem, that My name may be there…”
2 CHRONICLES 12:13 ” … Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen from all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there.”
EZRA 1:3 ” … Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem.”
PSALM 135:21 ” … Blessed be the LORD from Zion, Who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!”
Let us not forget that the Roman Emperor Hadrian, after the Jewish Bar Kokhba revolt of 132-135 AD, dispersed the Jews and renamed the city Aelia Capitolina, and Judea, the birthplace of Christ, he renamed Palestine. The name ‘Palestinian’ originally referred to Jews and the Jewish nation!
