Syria claims: Israel struck Damascus, air defense systems activated

Media in Syria reported overnight Tuesday that explosions that were heard in the vicinity of the capital Damascus. According to the reports, the Syrian air defense systems were activated and are “confronting hostile targets in the skies of the capital”. Syrian state television claimed that the explosions were a result of an Israeli air strike. Footage allegedly of the strike was circulated in Syria media. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be
