The Neutered West: Canada Makes National Anthem “Gender Neutral”

The New American: It’s certainly no surprise in a country whose prime minister wants to raise “feminist” sons and prefers the term “peoplekind” to “mankind,” but Canada’s national anthem has now become “gender neutral.” CBC News reported on the story:

The Senate passed a bill that renders the national anthem gender neutral Wednesday [1/31] despite the entrenched opposition of some Conservative senators.

The House of Commons overwhelmingly passed a private member’s bill in 2016 that would alter the national anthem by replacing “in all thy sons command” with “in all of us command” as part of a push to strike gendered language from “O Canada.”

The bill was first introduced by Liberal MP Mauril Bélanger, who died in 2016.

… Since 1980, when “O Canada” officially became the country’s anthem, 12 bills have been introduced in the House to strip the gendered reference to “sons,” which some have argued is discriminatory. All attempts have failed until now. more …

Opinion: In 2010 then Prime Minister Stephen Harper, an Evangelical Christian, slammed the door shut on making the anthem gender-neutral.

Harper served as PM from February 6, 2006 to November 4, 2015 and was defeated by hard-left progressive Justin Trudeau, an Obama clone. Harper caught our attention with his steadfast support for Israel:

Canada is obligated to stand up for its ally when it comes under attack from others. Not just because it is the right thing to do, but because history shows us, and the ideology of the anti-Israel mob tell us all too well, that those who threaten the existence of the Jewish people are in the longer term a threat to all of us”

Compare the statement above with current PM Trudeau’s Foreign Minister Stephane Dion on Israel:

“We’re steadfast allies and good friends, and good friends can occasionally deliver tough messages, but it’s by no means to suggest that we’re somehow retreating from any kind of support of Israel,” said Joe Pickerill, Dion’s spokesman.”

We’re steadfast allies and good friends, and can occasionally …”,  is code for a pro-Palestinian government.

  1. Oh what’s happened to my favorite non-US country, Canada?! I was the only “Yank” in my graduating class from the Univ of Calgary in the early 70s. I love those Canadian Rockies and Labatts Blue Label. Back then, Alberta was a rough and tumble “cowboy” Province – no “pink” camouflage or “rainbow” types at that time. My wife and I remember the “Beaver,” Pierre Elliott Trudeau. We called him that because of his overbite. At that time it was the western provinces against the eastern provinces with Quebec not liking anybody very much. I think there’s been too much American influence over the years. I have no real contribution to this thread – just reminiscing about a great adventure my young wife and I had whilst I finished Uni as a “foreign” student at U of C. $300 per semester – now those were the days!

  2. Unfortunately, Harper was probably the last conservative leader Canada will see. While not able to keep all promises (and what national leader ever has?) he was a staunch supporter of Israel, one of the most important, and unpopular, positions you can take.

  3. I’m glad you posted what you said about Harper, Psalm 37. I mean I’m not happy about the fact that Harper was a poser, but way back when he was in office I read that he had a (I can’t remember how it was stated exactly) a “stylist” or make-up artist, anyhow, someone to make him look good appearance wise, and I remember thinking he was probably an AC wannabe (sorry, that is harsh, but he was a leader who lied to those who elected him and gave him their trust). I remember posting some of those thoughts on prophecy sights and being ignored.

I look at congress and really do not trust any of them, either. Remember the purple ties/suit lapels of Bill and Hillary after her loss? Blue and red makes purple. The coming together of two parties. People laugh at the thought that someone making a “sign” with their hands, etc. might mean something tied to satanic practices. Well, most likely they do. Satanism loves signs, patterns, etc., just as God does. Except God’s signs and patterns, numerology and astrology are perfect. Satan’s are perverted. I look at Trey Gowdy (he is one of many, but on the news quite often) and he has worn either a purple tie or shirt (or something) almost every time I have seen him on TV. One of the “Rules for Radicals” by Alice Bailey is Thesis, Antithesis. One end coming against the other to bring them to the middle – compromise – which takes us down. I trust no one. Not Trump, Pence, no one in leadership these days. We are very close. Satan is furiously at work. Can’t let our guard down for a second. Ephesians 6
God Bless you all and Maranatha!

  4. Yep, Psalm 37, the so-called “Evangelical Christians” we thought we had (ours being Bush 43), are hirelings, much like so many pastors in the apostate churches. I voted for Bush twice, thinking he was pro-life and pro-America, but his true colors have shown brightly, like a Clorox 2 advertisement. (The alternative candidate in each election was worse, of course.) Both Bushes’ wives are pro-abortion and daughter Jenna very active in Planned Parenthood. For 8 years, 43 said nothing about Obama, and now one can’t shut him up in his criticism of Trump. All of the Bush family supported Hillary Clinton, which tells us all we need to know. Very disappointing to be duped again and again. We are spending $870 million annually for foreign “refugees” (, with Bush and Pelosi THANKING the illegals for coming here, while true citizens and veterans are suffering.
Only God can save our countries now.

  5. How much longer til the Canadian national anthem changes to, “O, Tranada”? It would seem more sexually inclusive that way, I’m sure.

As a Canadian I have to say that it was bad enough living under Harper’s rule. Sure, he may have seemed head and shoulders above Trudeau, Martin, Cretchien, Mulroney, Trudeau Sr., and a host of others. But he had a very long list of major flaws. Undoing Canada’s same sex law was a top campaign promise Harper had made. Canada’s same sex law was Harper’s first blatant broken promise. He had forced a parliamentary vote to ensure it would not be changed under law. Outlawing abortion in Canada was another broken promise Harper had made. When asked by many Christian Canadians when he plans to outlaw it his constant response was, “It is a non-issue and will not be re-visited.” Far from being a true conservative, Harper was more of a businessman than a conservative Christian leader. In fact, Stephan Harper was credited with being one of the main reasons Pierre Elliot Trudeau (Justin’s father) won the election many years ago to become Canada’s then Prime Minister. Harper admitted to actually “worshiping Pierre Trudeau”. Harper had proven on many occasions to be very dishonest and often uncaring. His quick duck-and-run after the last election left many conservative voters to wonder if he took a dive in that election. He was needed more in the Bilderberg Group.

All that being said, Trudeau is unfortunately living up to his campaign promises. During his election campaign he was very outspoken about his strong admiration for China’s communistic governing ways, and has been a long time fanatic of Islam. Days before election day Trudeau was recorded in an Islamic mosque, reciting an Islamic prayer. Afterwards, Muslims stated that only Muslims are allowed to say that prayer. In March 2011 he visited a mosque in Montreal that was classified by U.S. intelligence as an al-Qaida recruitment centre. After winning the election to become Canada’s PM he called Netanyahu and said, “Canada is no longer Israel’s friend. Israel will not be receiving the same preferential treatment they were receiving under former Prime Minister Stephan Harper.” Justin Trudeau and his family and some friends are long time friends of Aga Khan, and visit him at his Bel Island home on occasion. Trudeau claims he is not Muslim. He may actually be more Muslim than Obama. He claims to be Catholic, prays to Allah. You can’t get much more anti-Israel than that combination.
