Trump Appears to Support Isolation of Qatar

Al Monitor: US President Donald Trump Tuesday linked Arab moves to isolate Qatar to his recent Middle East trip, showing little sympathy for the plight of the Gulf emirate despite its role as a hub for US military operations in the region.

“During my recent trip to the Middle East I stated that there can no longer be funding of Radical Ideology. Leaders pointed to Qatar – look!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Saudi Arabia and several Arab allies, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, cut diplomatic ties and transport links with Qatar on Monday, accusing the Gulf state of supporting extremism. more

Opinion: A growing crisis? Or is the Trump ME peace deal working?

The basis for President Trump’s ME peace initiative is uniting Gulf states, minus Qatar, with Israel in a united stand against growing Iranian aggression and ME terror.

What will happen to the US air base in Qatar?

The US maintains its biggest concentration of military personnel in the Middle East at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base. The sprawling base 20 miles southwest of the Qatari capital of Doha is home to some 11,000 US military personnel.

The US Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, provides command and control of air power throughout Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and 17 other nations.

Will Qatar move closer to Iran?
This past week Iran announced it will renew funding for Hamas. Qatar has supported Hamas for over a decade, hosting its leader Khaled Mashall for five years. Qatar is also a known supporter of ISIS and al Qaeda.
Will Turkey be dragged into the crisis?

Turkey’s increasingly conspiratorial and paranoid mindset makes no secret of its support for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood as well as flourishing political, military, and business ties with Qatar.

Turkey has denied supporting ISIS despite Erdogan’s son Bilal being called the “Man who Supports ISIS” by selling the terror groups oil in the black market.

The US Incirlik Air Base in Turkey is the home of the 10th Air Wing of the 2nd Air Force Command with a complement of about five thousand US airmen.

What I find interesting is that Qatar, Turkey, Hamas, and ISIS are Sunni, while Iran is Shia.
