Debkafile: Syria stands on the threshold of dramatic changes that will directly impact on the strategic and military situation along the Syrian borders with Israel and Jordan. They derive from a deal struck this week by US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish US, Russian and Turkish security zones in Syria.
This scheme will transfer military control of the country to those three powers. more …
Opinion: Iran and its proxy Hezbollah out – US forces on Israel’s border in – Israel breathes a sigh of relief, for now.
It has been a long time since a US president made a decision involving the Middle East that is also a benefit to Israel.
That said, Russia and Turkey will one day turn against the Jewish state, bring Iran into the alliance and, with hooks in the jaw, all three armies will launch a surprise attack on Israel from the north, while north African allies attack from the south, Ezekiel 38:1-6.
Before that can happen, however, a war between Israel and her neighbors will change the landscape of the Middle East. We know that because Ezekiel 38:8 tells us that Israel will be living in peace and safety before the attack led by Russia.
And none of Ezekiel’s attackers are from the Psalm 83 line up, indicating those are incapable of fighting.
“Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth” Psalm 83:9-10.
The psalmist implores God to destroy His enemies in the same way as before:
- Midian – Gideon’s outnumbered army defeated the Midianites as God turned the enemy against itself, Judges 7:22.
- Jabin, king of the Canaanites, and Sisera, his general were defeated as the Lord lured the Canaanite army into a trap and the Israelites destroyed them, Judges 4:23-24.
