Zero Hedge: “One of the recurring concerns involving Europe’s seemingly perpetual economic, financial and social crises, is that these have been largely predetermined, “scripted” and deliberate acts.
To use global issues as excuses to extend its power:
- environmental issues: increase control over member countries; advance idea of global governance
- terrorism: use excuse for greater control over police and judicial issues; increase extent of surveillance
- global financial crisis: kill two birds (free market; Anglo-Saxon economies) with one stone (Europe-wide regulator; attempts at global financial governance)
- EMU: create a crisis to force introduction of “European economic government”
Opinion: It is interesting that most people think that financial crises happen out of the blue and then rely government bureaucrats and news pundits for the cause and solution. The last crisis ( housing collapse of 2007-9), said to be started by Wall Street fat cat bankers, whatever that means, was so severe that it made people irrational in their search for hope and change.
I believe there are two types of financial crisis:
- Government planned
- Government mismanagement
How wise was President Reagan’s famous quote: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help …“
The next financial crisis will, by plan, be much worse than the last. The simple reason is the mountain of debt that was created to try to solve the last crisis that was caused by government mismanagement of the economy.
This next one may well start in Europe, and as the article suggests, both the crisis and the solutions are already scripted.
The next crisis, or the one after that, may be so severe that it will require central banks of Europe and America and the governments they represent to merge, forming a western government alliance with a board of at least 10 governors, that will have the power to trump (pun intended) all national laws and constitutions.
This new government board will by necessity need to have taxation power, a military, a civilian police-keeping force, a single digital currency, and a state-approved religion that will be neither hot nor cold.
And it may work for a while until an 11th governor joins in who stands a bit above his peers.
