JNS: Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas and Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’s political bureau, shook hands in Algeria on Tuesday, but according to analysts, they would have preferred not to.
The two leaders last met in Qatar in 2016, and did so this time at the invitation of Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in order to mark Algeria’s 60th Independence Day.
“They met not because they wanted to, but because the Algerians invited both of them,” Kobi Michael, a senior research fellow at Tel Aviv’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), told JNS. “They were forced in one way or another to shake hands. I think that this is a photo opportunity for the Algerians to show that they are able to contribute something.”
“Algeria, in comparison to the other Arab countries, is much more committed to the Palestinians,” Michael added, noting that Algeria hopes to position itself as an important player among both Arab and African states. Appearing to have influence over an important conflict is one way to do that, he said.
While neither Haniyeh nor Abbas wanted to be there, Abbas was the less enthusiastic of the two. Read More …
Opinion: Take a look at that picture again. The 87 year old terrorist looks like he took a big gulp of castor oil before being force to shake with his terror rival. Both men have Jewish blood on their hands, but since Abbas has been a known terrorist since arranging the financing for the 1972 Olympics Munich Massacre, there is no doubt who has killed more.
While long time readers of this blog are very familiar with the Psalm 83 war, I will review the basics for new readers. What I find fascinating about this headline is that Abbas and Haniyeh are completely unaware that both of the terror groups they represent will one day form an alliance of 10 Arab armies in a post-rapture/pre-tribulation all out attack on Israel.
“Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” Psalm 83:4
How do I know? The Psalmist Asaph pinpointed each army that would be in the alliance:
The tents of Edom – Edom was originally located in Mt. Seir (southern Jordan) until the 6th century BC when Esau’s descendants were forced to change locations by a Nabatean tribe. Edom today is represented by the Palestinians of the West Bank.
Moab and Ammon – Palestinians of central and northern Jordan also called the children of Lot (Gen. 19:30-38)
The Ishmaelites – Ishmael settled in the Arabian Peninsula or modern-day Saudi Arabia
The Hagrites – Hagar, mother of Ishmael, was from Egypt
Amalek – Eternal enemy of the Israelites (Ex. 17:16) Arabs of the Sinai (ISIS)
Gebal – Northern Lebanon
Philistia – Palestinians of Gaza (Hamas)
The inhabitants of Tyre – Southern Lebanon (Hezbollah)
Assyria – Syria and northern Iraq
The Palestinian Authority headquarters run by Mahmoud Abbas (who is in poor health), is located in the West Bank city of Ramallah representing the Tents of Edom …
Philistia is the coastal city of Gaza that is run by billionaire Ismail Haniyeh – Hamas …
Both areas were designated to be Israeli as part of the 1917 Balfour Declaration, until Britain capitulated and turned both areas over to the Arabs.
In the Six Day War of 1967, Israel recaptured Judea, Samaria, and Gaza but eventually gave them back in exchange for peace that never came.
The Abbas and Haniyeh struggle for power will one day bring both terror groups together to set the stage for a larger Russian-led war and a 7 year peace treaty beginning the tribulation.
The result will be a peace treaty confirmed by a new world leader.
“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.” Daniel 9:27
