Outrageous: Taliban says US will provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Assessment: Two US policies bite the dust: The US will never leave its citizens behind and the United States will not negotiate with terrorists.

The U.S. has agreed to provide humanitarian aid to a desperately poor Afghanistan on the brink of an economic disaster, while refusing to give political recognition to the country’s new Taliban rulers, the Taliban said Sunday.

“Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you were coming out of Egypt.’ Deut. 25:17

The statement came at the end of the first direct talks between the former foes since the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops at the end of August.

The U.S. statement was less definitive, saying only that the two sides “discussed the United States’ provision of robust humanitarian assistance, directly to the Afghan people.”

The Taliban said the talks held in Doha, Qatar, “went well,” with Washington freeing up humanitarian aid to Afghanistan after agreeing not to link such assistance to formal recognition of the Taliban. Read More @ AP HERE

DeSantis Hails Christopher Columbus: ‘Singular Figure in Western Civilization Who Exemplified … Heroism’

Assessment: Progressive leftist President Joe Biden cancelled Columbus Day and instead celebrated ‘Indigenous Peoples’ day …

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) marked Columbus Day by praising the “courage, risk-taking, and heroism” of Christopher Columbus.

Historic painting of Christopher Columbus. He and his sailors stand in triumph at least on San Salvador, the Bahamas, on Oct. 12, 1492. The success of Columbus "Enterprise of the Indies" was due not only to his imaginative dreams. He was also a rugged individualist, driven by a "Yankee" profit motive, a yen for glory, a sense of divine providence and he struck a hard bargain to get a sponsor for his voyage. (Ap Photo/HO)

In a statement, DeSantis pushed back against critics who seek to diminish Columbus’s exploration that led to the founding of the United States of America. He said:

Columbus Day commemorates the life and legacy of the Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus, who made Europeans conscious of the existence of the New World and whose travels opened the door for the development of European settlements in the Western Hemisphere, which would ultimately lead to the establishment of the United States of America.

WHEREAS, when Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492 as a Genoan traveling with the sponsorship of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain, he and is crew aboard the Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria set the precedent for the contribution of European immigrants to the development of the culture and economy of the countries of the Western Hemisphere; and

WHEREAS, Columbus Day was first proclaimed a national holiday by President Benjamin Harrison in 1892 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of America and for more than a century has, until very recently, been a unifying day for all Americans to celebrate the fact that had Columbus and the explorers who followed him not traveled across the Atlantic, the country we hold dear and the lives we enjoy would not exist; and

WHEREAS, Columbus stands a singular figure in Western Civilization who exemplified courage, risk-taking and heroism in the face of enormous odds; as a visionary who saw the possibilities of exploration beyond Europe; and as a founding father who laid the foundation for what would one day become the United States of America, which would commemorate Columbus by naming its federal district after him; and

WHEREAS, Columbus continues to be a historical figure who engenders the pride of nearly 17 million Italian Americans, a community whose warmth, generosity, patriotism, and love of family have made those characteristics even greater components of the broader American culture and way of life; and

WHEREAS, we must learn from history and continue to discuss Columbus’ contributions, discoveries, and experiences rather than revise history, and acknowledge that individuals who seek to defame Columbus and try to expunge the day from our civic calendar do so as part of a mission to portray the United States and Western history in a negative light as they seek to blame our country and its values for all that is evil in the world, rather than see it as the force for good, and

WHEREAS, by celebrating and acknowledging Christopher Columbus, European explorers and the native tribes they encountered in the New World, we can come to appreciate the exploration and development of civilization in this hemisphere with optimism, hope, and an appreciation of the trail-blazing legacy of American heroes who built the greatest nation the world has ever known; and

WHEREAS, on this Columbus Day as American entrepreneurs embark upon a new age of exploration, we acknowledge that without the heroism of explorers who ventured into the unknown some five centuries ago, we would not be here today in this hemisphere, on this continent, in this country, with the ones we love, as Americans propel humanity forward as the engine of innovation and the guarantor of global security and stability.

Newsom Signs Law Requiring Gender-Neutral Toy Sections At Large Retailers

Assessment: The Bible does not even hint of the possibility that those suffering with transgenderism have a brain that functions as one gender while the rest of the body is biologically the other gender (more)

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) signed a new law Saturday mandating that many large retail stores offer some toys in gender-neutral sections, a move advocates encourages children to consider toys without taking into account gender stereotypes.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

“This bill would require a retail department store that is physically located in California that has a total of 500 or more employees across all California retail department store locations that sells childcare items or toys to maintain a gender neutral section or area, to be labeled at the discretion of the retailer, in which a reasonable selection of the items and toys for children that it sells shall be displayed, regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys,” reads the law.

It’s unclear how large the gender-neutral section has to be to satisfy the “reasonable selection” requirements.

The law will go into effect in 2024, and will bring with it a possible $250 fine for a first violation, and up to a $500 fine for each subsequent violation. Read More @ Daily Wire HERE

Pope meets Pelosi as abortion debate rages back home

Assessment: Cardinal Wilton Gregory, the archbishop of Washington, D.C., has not tried to stop Biden, a regular church-goer, from receiving communion …

Pope Francis met on Saturday with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic who has come under criticism from some bishops in the United States for her support for abortion rights.

Their meeting took place several weeks before Joe Biden is expected to meet the pope while the U.S. president is in Rome for talks between leaders of the Group of 20 major economies.

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither [k]cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Rev. 3:15-16

Biden, the second Catholic U.S. president, has said he is personally opposed to abortion but, as a politician, cannot impose his views. Pelosi, who has five children, has said she supports a woman’s right to choose.

Biden’s administration and Pelosi have urged judges to block a new Texas law which bars abortions from six weeks, saying it is unconstitutional. The ban was temporarily reinstated on Friday by a conservative-leaning appeals court.

The Catholic Church teaches that human life begins at the moment of conception and Biden and Pelosi have been criticised by conservative Catholic media and U.S. conservative bishops, some of whom say neither should be allowed to receive communion.

Last month the pope, asked about the U.S. communion debate, told reporters abortion is “murder”, even soon after conception, but appeared to criticise U.S. Catholic bishops for dealing with the issue in a political rather than pastoral way.

“Communion is not a prize for the perfect … communion is a gift, the presence of Jesus and his Church,” the pope said. Read More @ Thompson Reuters HERE

Taliban Says It Won’t Work With U.S. To Contain Terrorist Groups In Afghanistan

Assessment: Pakistani officials urged the U.S. to engage with Afghanistan’s new rulers and release billions of dollars in international funds to stave off an economic meltdown.

Concerns about Afghanistan continue to mount after the United States’ disastrous withdrawal led to the terrorist group Taliban taking over in August. On Saturday, the Taliban said it would not work with the U.S. to combat extremism in the country, insisting it would handle other terrorist groups like ISIS on its own.

“Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Ex. 16:17

“We are able to tackle Daesh independently,” Taliban political spokesman Suhail Shaheen, using the Arabic acronym for the terrorist group ISIS, told the Associated Press.

The statement comes just hours before senior Taliban officials and representatives from the U.S. are set to meet to discuss extremist groups and evacuating the remaining U.S. citizens and Afghans with special visas from Afghanistan. The Taliban’s statement regarding cooperation on containing extremism could complicate the meeting.

U.S. officials will ask the Taliban to uphold its commitment to letting the remaining U.S. citizens and other foreign nationals leave Afghanistan, along with any Afghans who assisted the U.S. during the war.

“The weekend meetings in Doha are the first since U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan in late August, ending a 20-year military presence, and the Taliban rose to power in the nation. Read More @ Daily Wire HERE

Southwest Cancels 1,800 Flights Days After Pilots Fight Vaccine Mandates; Airline Claims ‘Bad Weather’

Assessment: Flying in Joe Biden’s tyrannical America.

Just two days after the Southwest pilots union asked a federal judge to block the company’s vaccine mandate, the airline canceled 1,800 flights this weekend, blaming bad weather.

“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,
But when a wicked man rules, people groan.” Proverbs 29:2

“Southwest Airlines canceled more than 1,800 flights this weekend, disrupting the travel plans of thousands of customers and stranding flight crews, blaming the meltdown on a combination of bad weather, air traffic control and its own shortage of available staff,” reported CNBC.

In a note to staff on Sunday, Alan Kasher, executive vice president of daily flight operations, said that the airline “did not anticipate” the series of disruptions that arose over the weekend.

“I know this is incredibly difficult for all of you, and our customers are not happy,” said Kasher.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - JANUARY 28: A Southwest Airlines jet lands at Midway International Airport on January 28, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois. Southwest Airlines today reported its first annual loss since 1972. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has wreaked havoc on the industry in 2020 with U.S. airlines reporting a combined $34 …

“Although we were staffed for the weekend, we could not anticipate the significant disruption that was created from unexpected ATC issues and bad weather across our Florida stations,” he added.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said bad weather and staffing issues in Florida contributed to a “few hours” of flight delays on Friday afternoon at the Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center, which “controls airspace in five parts of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina,” according to CNBC.

Chris Bianchi, a meteorologist out of Denver, told CNBC that he did not see the type of severe weather that would have caused massive flight delays. “Based on what I’ve seen, there didn’t appear to be any high impact weather that would’ve significantly affected Southwest operations yesterday or today,” he said.

On Friday, the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) filed a lawsuit asking that a federal judge “temporarily block the company from carrying out federally mandated coronavirus vaccinations until an existing lawsuit over alleged U.S. labor law violations is resolved,” according to Bloomberg.

“The new vaccine mandate unlawfully imposes new conditions of employment and the new policy threatens termination of any pilot not fully vaccinated by December 8, 2021,” the legal filing said. “Southwest Airlines’ additional new and unilateral modification of the parties’ collective bargaining agreement is in clear violation of the RLA.” Read More @ Breitbart HERE

Reduce Population to Save the Planet, Says Former UK Finance Chief

Assessment: A globalist dream. The first instruction of the Georgia Guidestones: Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature (more) …

Britain and other Western nations should welcome declining populations and ageing demographics as it will help them meet climate change goals, the former chairman of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has argued.

In a report from Population Matters entitled Smaller Families and Ageing Populations, Lord Adair Turner, the chairman of the UK Energy Transitions Commission and former head of the FSA, argued that declining native populations will enhance prosperity.

“So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And [a]power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Rev. 6:8

“The biggest reason to welcome this demographic shift is that it results from the free choice of empowered people, and in particular women,” Lord Adair wrote.

“But ceasing endless population growth will also reduce humanity’s future press on the natural environment, ease the challenge of adequate housing provision, and make it easier to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions while supporting prosperity growth in developing countries.”

The report said that Britain could cut carbon emissions by approximately 38 million tonnes by 2035 if it experiences a similar decline in population to Japan, which is expected to see a drop of 9.6 per cent in population from 125m to 113.1m people by 2035.

In contrast, the United Kingdom is expected to see an increase in the population of 5.2 per cent over the same time period to 71.1 million people, driven in large part by mass migration. Read More @Breitbart HERE

Vatican Foreign Minister Calls for ‘Fiscal Redistribution’ to Fight Inequality

Assessment: Between the church’s priceless art, land, gold and equity investments across the globe, it is one of the wealthiest institutions on Earth. Vatican city pays no taxes, no restrictions on imports or exports and there are no customs fees. Employees do not pay income tax and there is no duty tax on imports …

Vatican foreign minister Archbishop Paul Gallagher has called for increased redistribution as a necessary means of overcoming economic inequality, the Catholic News Service reported Wednesday.

In his address before a high-level U.N. meeting on inequality and prosperity, Archbishop Gallagher asserted that “fighting rampant inequality cannot be achieved without fiscal redistribution and increasing the progressiveness of income taxation schedules.”

And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” Rev. 18:4

“Better taxation can redistribute a portion of the rents accruing to big corporations and help build up tax bases, especially in developing countries,” he declared.

The archbishop also noted how the global coronavirus pandemic has slowed humanity’s progressive elimination of extreme poverty.

The World Bank, for instance, has estimated the pandemic “drove an additional 97 million people into extreme poverty in 2020.”

“As wages have decreased, millions of individuals have been plunged into poverty, and this has set back poverty reduction targets by nearly a decade,” Gallagher said, adding that those already in vulnerable situations “were disproportionately affected by its fallout.”

Our World in Data (OWD) has noted that in the past, the immense majority of mankind lived in what would be described today as “extreme poverty,” a situation that has been steadily improving over the past two centuries thanks to industrialization and rising productivity.

“This is surely one of the most remarkable achievements of humankind,” OWD declared.  Read More @ Breitbart HERE

Israeli judge upholds ban on Jewish prayer at Al-Aqsa compound

Assessment: After capturing Jerusalem in the 1967 war, secular Israeli General Moshe Dyan turned the Temple Mount over to the control of the Jordanian Waqf, in one of Israel’s greatest blunders. This judge may have made the second.

An Israeli court has upheld a ban on Jewish prayer at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, overturning a lower court’s decision that had sparked fury among Palestinians and the Muslim world.

Aryeh Lippo, an Israeli rabbi, was slapped with a two-week ban from the compound last month after praying there, but a Jerusalem court on Tuesday struck down the move, saying Lippo’s whispered prayer did “not violate police instructions”.

“Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever.” Ezekiel 43:7

Jews are allowed to visit the site but may not pray or engage in rituals there.

Palestinians denounced on Thursday the decision by the Israeli court, which upends a long-standing agreement whereby Muslims worship at Al-Aqsa – Islam’s third holiest site – while Jews worship at the nearby Western Wall. Read mMore @ Aljazeera HERE
