Bennett: Hardliner Raisi’s election a sign for world powers to ‘wake up’ on Iran

Times of Israel: Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday opened the first cabinet meeting of his new government with a condemnation of the newly elected Iranian president. He said Iran’s choice was a sign for world powers to “wake up” before returning to a nuclear agreement with Tehran.

“All the royal officials at the king’s gate knelt down and paid honor to Haman, for the king had commanded this concerning him. But Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor.” Esther 3:2 NIV

Iran’s hardline judiciary chief, Ebrahim Raisi, was elected Saturday with 62 percent of the vote amid a historically low voter turnout and as all major competitors were disqualified or pulled out.

He is sanctioned by the US in part over his involvement in the mass execution of thousands of political prisoners in 1988, at the end of the Iran-Iraq war. Raisi has not commented specifically on the event. Read More

Grammy Winning Singer Macy Gray: Cancel the American Flag for Juneteenth, ‘It No Longer Represents Democracy and Freedom’

Breitbart: Grammy-winning singer Macy Gray bashed the American flag as “tattered, dated, divisive, and incorrect” in an op-ed published a day before Juneteenth. Gray says it is time for a “new flag” that “represents ALL of us,” as Old Glory “no longer represents democracy and freedom.”

“Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.’ Romans 16:17

In a Thursday op-ed, the “I Try” singer said the American flag has been “hijacked as code for a specific belief.”

“God bless those believers, they can have it. Like the Confederate, it is tattered, dated, divisive, and incorrect. It no longer represents democracy and freedom. It no longer represents ALL of us. It’s not fair to be forced to honor it. It’s time for a new flag,” Gray wrote before detailing her specific grievances with the existing flag.

The R&B singer took issue with the stars, specifically, contending that there should be 52 rather than 50 — one for Washington, DC, and the other for Puerto Rico. She briefly lamented their lack of statehood, which she is convinced is rooted in racism.

“Assuming D.C. reps would be African-American and Puerto Rican reps would be Hispanic, the ultimate assumption is that these elected officials would be Democratic. That alone is racist,” she wrote.

Indeed, the Juneteenth flag’s colors are red, white, and blue and it’s flown since 1997. Read More

Reopening plays including Royal Caribbean and Boeing were slightly higher. Banks also looked set to rebound. Read More

New government, new threats

JNS: The day after Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett formed their government, Biden administration officials threw a diplomatic grenade at them. Last Monday, administration officials told reporters “unofficially” that U.S. President Joe Biden intends to appoint Hady Amr, his Assistant Secretary of State for Israel and the Palestinians, to serve as U.S. Consul General to the Palestinians—in Jerusalem.

“Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.” 1 Samuel 15:KJV

To deploy Amr to Israel’s capital as consul, the administration will first need to open a consulate in Jerusalem. In accordance with the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1996, the Trump administration closed the consulate and turned the building into the Ambassador’s Residence following the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem in 2019. And under the Vienna Convention, the United States must ask Israel to permit the opening of the consulate and accredit the head of mission.

The administration’s decision to deploy Amr to Jerusalem as ambassador-in-everything-but-name to a hostile, non-Israeli entity is a double assault on Israel. First, it sends the clear message that the Biden administration supports the division of Israel’s capital.

Second, by sending Amr specifically to Jerusalem, the administration is making clear that it intends to legitimize and work with Hamas. Read More

Bishops OK Drafting a Statement on Reception of Holy Communion. Biden, Other Pro-abortion Backers Worried

The New American: The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops ignored the Vatican and a gaggle of USSCB’s members to overwhelmingly approve drafting a formal statement on what the sacrament of the Eucharist — or Holy Communion — means to the Catholic Church.

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

On Friday, the bishops voted 168-55, with six abstentions, to move ahead. They were forced to act because President Biden, the most prominent Catholic in the country, is pro-abortion. That means he should not present himself for Communion at Mass.

Catholics have been pushing Catholic prelates to deny the sacrament, as Church law requires, to pro-abortion Catholic politicians such as Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others.

The bishops have refused to do so because they don’t want to “politicize” or “weaponize” the Eucharist, some claimCatholics believe the Eucharist is the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ.

Weeks ago, 67 bishops wrote to USCCB chieftain Los Angeles Archbishop José Gomez and told him to stop the vote. That bunch acted after a note from the Vatican said such a vote might cause “discord” in the Church. Read More

‘Prepare for Iran nuclear facility strike,’ says Israeli official after election of ‘Butcher of Tehran’

World Israel News: Israeli senior military and intelligence officials are gearing up for a future strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, after news broke that Ebrahim Raisi was elected president of the Islamic Republic.

Raisi is a hardcore Islamist who has been named by Amnesty International as a perpetrator of war crimes.

Channel 12 News reported that Raisi is in favor of a return to the 2015 nuclear deal in exchange for relief of sanctions that have crippled Iran’s economy.

But as talks with the U.S. enter yet another round of talks with no set end in sight, Israel is worried that Iran will continue stockpiling and enriching uranium until the ink on a deal is dry. Read More

California rolls out digital vaccine verification — but don’t call it a passport

Yahoo News: Don’t call it a vaccine passport, but California now offers something that’s awfully close.

The state’s Departments of Public Health and Technology unveiled a website Friday that lets users who verify their identities get digital copies of their Covid-19 vaccination record.

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads.” Rev. 16:16

Called the Digital Covid-19 Vaccine Record portal, the site is meant as a digital backup to the paper cards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that Americans receive when they get a Covid-19 vaccination, said Amy Tong, the state’s chief information officer.

It “provides Californians a way to view and save their own vaccine record,” Tong said on a press call. “Instead of having a card, if they want to have a digital version of the same CDC card, this is your opportunity to do so.”

Residents can take a screen grab of their record on the site if they want to avoid carrying around a CDC card, she said. Read More

Biden’s Terror Strategy Defines Republicans as the New Terrorists

Front Page Mag: As the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks approaches, Joe Biden has made it clear that he doesn’t intend to fight Al Qaeda. Instead he’s going to fight other Americans.

The Biden administration’s newly released National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism mentions Al Qaeda only once in its 30 pages. Even though the FBI continues to break up Islamic terrorist plots against America, the document only defines Muslims as victims.

“If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked.” Proverbs 29:12 ESV

Just last month a Seattle Muslim convert was arrested. The convert had discussed driving a “semi-truck” through “the gay pride parade in downtown Seattle”. Even though the arrest came shortly before the anniversary of the ISIS massacre at the Pulse nightclub, both Biden and the media ignored the potential plot and the fact that the Pulse shooting was Islamic terrorism.

“I wish to see the kuffar (non-Muslims) as I kill them, I want to strike terror in them and make Allah pleased for doing so,” the Seattle convert had boasted. Read More

Explaining the volatile stock and bond market moves this week following the Fed’s update

CNBC: The Federal Reserve unleashed a huge repositioning in global financial markets, as investors reacted to a world where the U.S. central bank is no longer guaranteeing its policies will be dovish — or easy.

“… “A quart of wheat for a [e]denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Rev. 6:6

The dollar surged the most in a year over a two-day period against a basket of currencies.

Stocks were mixed around the world on Thursday, as were bond markets. Many commodities sold off. The Nasdaq Composite was higher, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average slid. Tech gained, and cyclical stocks fell.

The central bank delivered a strong message Wednesday when Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said officials have discussed tapering bond buying and would at some point decide to begin the process of slowing the purchases. At the same time, Fed officials added two rate hikes to their 2023 forecast, where there were none before. Read More
