BirthStrike Britain: Women too Scared of Climate Change to Have Children

BBC: Blythe Pepino and Alice Brown say they are so scared about the future of the planet they do not want to have children.

They are part of a group called BirthStrike, and spoke to Victoria Derbyshire about how their fears have grown. more …

Opinion: The meaning of children is wonderfully described by the Jewish sages in the first mitzvah (a precept or commandment, a good deed done from religious duty).

Simple. The first mitzvah (Genesis 1:28) that G‑d ever gave to mankind was to Adam and Eve immediately after their creation: “Be fruitful and multiply!” He repeated those same words to Noah and his family after the decimation of the Flood: Go have babies!

Overpopulation and climate change (weather) are not a worry for God… The world is big enough for us all.

“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22

  1. You say He has not given us responsibility and dominion over His domain (Earth)?

“God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful, fill the earth and subdue it'” (Genesis 1:26-28 NKJV).

“Fill the earth and subdue it”. In Genesis 1, He demanded men to ‘subdue’, or ‘conserve’, ‘sustain’ His creation. The most translated wordage is ‘dominion,’ which we would refer to as ‘stewardship.’

We are told that we were created in His image and given a divine mandate to care for Creation. With that said, how is it righteous to ignore Men’s actions that manipulate Earth? Why should we ignore His words when there are statistically proven, near immediate problems with overpopulation and climate change?

    • Thank you for responding. You are correct that man has been given dominion over the earth. However, there are statistics on both sides of what many on the left call ‘settled science’ regarding climate change and overpopulation. Secular statistics do not consider or know God’s plan for future times. Answers in Genesis has many articles written by Bible scholars/scientists that I encourage you to read.
Excerpt: “After the Flood, Genesis 9:1 and Genesis 9:8 reaffirm that man was to reproduce and multiply and fill the earth as well. The basis for overpopulation comes from uniformitarianism and projecting current growth rates into the future. Uniformitarianism has failed in the fields of geology and radiometric dating while looking at the past. So, why trust the results of uniformitarianism here?” You can read more here:
