Joel Rosenberg, All Israel News: Algeria is not one that typically draws much attention in Israel, the United States, or in the global media.

But it’s a country to which we need to pay much closer attention.

Why?

First, it is Africa’s biggest exporter of natural gas to Europe, which makes it an extremely important country in terms of energy security.

But second, Algeria is going in a very dark and dangerous direction by becoming increasingly aligned with Russia and Iran.

Algeria is also the base camp of the Polisario Front, a criminal and extremist group that many believe is a terrorist organization. They work closely with the Iranian regime and Hezbollah, Iran’s terrorist proxy group in Lebanon, and they actively seek to destabilize and overthrow the King of Morocco, one of the West’s most important Arab allies.

Given my recent visit to Morocco, I wanted to look more closely at the double game that Algeria is playing, and the threat it could pose to American, European and Israeli interests.

Opinion: “The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.”

A massive assault on Israel was prophesied by Ezekiel 3500 years ago. It remains unfulfilled to this day, but new alliances forming with Russia among the already named participants leaves little doubt that the war is nearing fulfillment.

To our long term readers, we can now add Algeria with more certainty to the Gog Magog participants which up until now, was only a possibility.

In Bible Prophecy 101 Chapter 6 (here) we, in corroboration with several Bible scholars, had identified Cush as Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan and Put as Libya, possibly Tunisia Algeria. Just as Daniel 12:4 prophesied that in the last days ‘knowledge will increase’, it is now more likely, that Put does include Algeria.

New Muslim nations aligning with Russia and Iran, presents a bone-chilling wake up call that Ezekiel’s Gog Magog war is not only coming closer, but that the North Africa contingent may be much larger and more powerful than previously thought.

As of 2022, Algeria had a total of 465,000 army personnel and is ranked #26 of 145 of the countries considered for the annual Global Firepower, with a total of 1,467 main battle tanks and 125 fighter jets.

Rusia and Ez 38

Let’s review the participants from BP 101 chapter 6 with our now outdated map:

  • Gog is a prince of (Rosh) Russia; a title of a strong leader.
  • Magog is the 2nd son of Japheth (a son of Noah) who settled in what is today Russia
  • Meshech and Tubal, once a part of Turkey
  • Persia is modern day Iran
  • Cush (eldest son of Noah’s son Ham) settled in the area of Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia
  • Put (third son of Ham) settled in the area of Libya, possibly Tunisia and Algeria
  • Gomer, Beth Togarmah, Meshech, Tubal are ancient names for Turkey
  • Many nations with you: possibly additional North African Islamic allies

If, as this article suggests, since Gog Magog is even bigger than we originally thought, perhaps the last bullet point “Many nations with you” is more accurate as the nations prepare for the final wars of this age.
