ISIS with ‘vast amounts of cash’ planning comeback in Turkey, Iraq spy chief claims

Telegraph: Lieutenant General Saad al-Allaq, head of Iraq’s Military Intelligence, claimed in an interview with CNN that Iraq has given Ankara dossiers on nine alleged leaders of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), including top financiers for the terror group.

The general said senior Isil figures known as “emirs” have access to vast reserves of cash and were forming new cells in Turkey.

He claimed many of them had managed to escape from Isil’s final patch of territory in Baghouz, eastern Syria, after bribing Western-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to reach Idlib in the north-west. From there, he said, they crossed the border to Gaziantep in southern Turkey. more …

Opinion: Good luck getting Recep Erdogan to stop ISIS. In a post yesterday in Jihad Watch:

Turkey’s Erdogan: “Our God commands us to be violent towards the kuffar” (infidels)

“Our God commands us to be violent towards the kuffar (infidels). Who are we? The ummah [nation] of Mohammed. So [God] also commands us to be merciful to each other. So we will be merciful to each other. And we will be violent to the kuffar. Like in Syria.” That statement is based on this Qur’an verse: “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.” (Qur’an 48:29).

BTW, we are the infidels, not ISIS. Erdogan has been eerily quiet since Mike Pompeo’s Middle East shaking statement saying Israel’s settlements are not illegal. Erdogan’s son Bilal not only helped ISIS in the past by selling its oil on the black market (here) but the daughter of the dictator was reported as head of a covert medical facility for treating ISIS fighters.

What has been ignored by both the Obama and Trump administrations is Erdogan’s open support for Hamas.
