Referencing the Prophet Balaam, Netanyahu Prepares for Day When Trump Abandons Israel Too

BIN: At the 46th annual Yom Kippur War memorial service on Monday, Prime Minister Netanyahu recalled the event and how the United States abandoned their closest ally in the Middle East during their time of need stating: Referencing the Biblical prophet Balaam, Netanyahu added that:

“We do not aspire to be ‘a nation that dwells alone,’ but that is how we were forced to stand at the beginning of the Yom Kippur War,” he said, reminding those present that American aid arrived only towards the end of the 1973 war as reported in the Jpost.

But then, Netanyahu compared the events of that time to today saying: “We always remember and apply the basic principle that guides us: Israel will defend itself, by itself, against any threat.”

As I see them from the mountain tops, Gaze on them from the heights, There is a people that dwells apart, Not reckoned among the nations Numbers 23:9 (The Israel Bible™)

Opinion: We have quoted Numbers 23:9 hundreds of times, it is even in the Two Trains Study (here). How amazing that the verse is 3500 years old and fits Israel like a glove today.

I have had several discussions with friends/family about the Trump move to pull out of Syria. “Aren’t you sick of being the world’s police?” one said. “I am tired of any more US blood in the ME, bring our troops home” another said. I tried to remind both that these are professional soldiers not 18 year olds having been drafted. Counter-terrorism soldiers are highly trained and are the first to sign up for these types of missions.

Second, and most important, the president is breaking a commitment made to the Kurds that if they helped us clean out ISIS, we would protect them from the monster Erdogan. They did, and we didn’t.

This is a conundrum for me. I know from Ezekiel 38:13 that no nation comes to Israel’s side in the future Gog Magog war. I know that the withdrawal of US forces is in keeping with the prophecy. I know that it will be divine intervention that saves Israel (Ezekiel 38:18-21) from certain annihilation, and I know that because the victory will be so miraculous, the sons and daughters of Jacob will make their way home (Ezekiel 39:28).

But it still bothers me that the president I supported broke his word to the Kurds and from Netanyahu’s speech it bothers him as well.
