JPost: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) showcased the rise of China, Russia, Turkey and Iran as an emerging bloc of countries. While the SCO is ostensibly a group of states that includes most of the countries of Central Asia; the role of Turkey and Iran this year was of greater importance than in the past. Turkish social media was full of posts showing Turkey’s President meeting with Russia’s leader; as well as speaking with other authoritarian leaders at the SCO summit in Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, CGTN media reported that “Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday urged Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states to keep the SCO on the right course, deepen cooperation in various fields, and continue to foster a favorable environment for the development and rejuvenation of member states.”

What does the Chinese leader have to say?

The Chinese leader stressed the need for states to work toward security and stability. He spoke after clashes had taken place between Azerbaijan and Armenia as well as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan; and as Russia continues its war in Ukraine. It appears that this chaos could undermine China’s push for economic success. The Chinese leader said that it’s important for SCO member states to pursue inclusiveness and shared benefits in promoting development cooperation. “Member states should actively promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, ensure the stable and smooth functioning of industrial and supply chains, and encourage the orderly flow of resources and factors of production, so as to realize greater economic integration and development in the region,” said Xi, according to CGTN. Opinion: From the prophecy of Ezekiel 38, Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan is preparing his country to join a future massive attack on the Jewish State. Joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a logical first step for Erdogan., not so for Turkey.

The Alliance:

Ezek. 38:1-3 “Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.”

  • Gog is a prince of (Rosh) Russia; a title of a strong leader.
  • Magog is the 2nd son of Japheth (a son of Noah) who settled in what is today Russia
  • Josephus, the first century Jewish historian, identified the offspring of Magog as the Scythians (Edomites from Judea and Persia) who were known as brutal, horse-riding nomads that resided in the area of modern-day southern Russia and East Ukraine.
  • Meshech and Tubal, once a part of Turkey.

Ezekiel 38:4 I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.”

Ezekiel 38:5 NIV “Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.”

The Weapons and Climate of The Gog & Magog War - Theology in Perspective

  • Persia is modern day Iran.
  • Cush (eldest son of Noah’s son Ham) is the area of Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia
  • Put (third son of Ham) is the area of Libya, possibly Tunisia and Algeria
  • Gomer, Beth Togarmah, Meshech, Tubal are ancient names for Turkey
  • Many nations with you: possibly additional North African Islamic allies

All the nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 are declared enemies of Israel. Russia and Turkey are next.

Russia is showing signs of turning against Israel by condemning Israel’s attacks on terrorist strongholds in Syria, while Turkey’s president has become more blatant by embracing Hamas.
