The Coming Middle East Conflagration

The Atlantic: The senior ministers of the Israeli government met twice last week to discuss the possibility of open war with Iran. They were mindful of the Iranian plan for a drone attack from Syria in August, aborted at the last minute by an Israeli air strike, as well as Iran’s need to deflect attention from the mass protests against Hezbollah’s rule in Lebanon.

The ministers also reviewed the recent attack by Iranian drones and cruise missiles on two Saudi oil installations, reportedly concluding that a similar assault could be mounted against Israel from Iraq.

The Israel Defense Forces, meanwhile, announced the adoption of an emergency plan, code-named Momentum, to significantly expand Israel’s missile defense capacity, its ability to gather intelligence on embedded enemy targets, and its soldiers’ preparation for urban warfare. Israeli troops, especially in the north, have been placed on war footing. Israel is girding for the worst and acting on the assumption that fighting could break out at any time.

And it’s not hard to imagine how it might arrive. The conflagration, like so many in the Middle East, could be ignited by a single spark. more …

Opinion: The actors in the final prophetic wars before the onset of the tribulation are lining up as foretold by the prophets.

Russia, Iran and Turkey are cementing an alliance and the only friend Israel has, Donald Trump and the Christian right, are preparing to exit the Middle East. Israeli websites are on high alert for the Gog Magog war. Even Billy Graham’s daughter made headlines (here) warning that the nations of Ezekiel 38 seems imminent.

What is missing from the analysis are two very important verses:

Ezekiel. 38:8 NIVAfter many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war.”

Ezekiel 38:11 NIV “You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars.”

First: Even with Israel in turmoil today, the Jewish state has not had a major war since the Yom Kippur War of 1973. Since then there was a 2006 Hezbollah war and several battles with Hamas the last of which was in 2014.

Second: This is key. There is absolutely no talk of Israel taking down its security fences. The nation lives in a constant state of readiness for war.

Therefore as prophecy students we need to look out for another war that will precede Ezekiel’s war, and the one that fits perfectly was foretold 500 years before Ezekiel even lived.

Psalm 83 is comprised of Israel’s immediate neighbors. The battle cry Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more”, sounds like it came from the morning Drudge Report, and not one of the armies mentioned are found in Ezekiel’s Gog Magog war.

Can you imagine a massive alliance of Russia, Iran, Turkey and North Africa converging on the Jewish state to wipe it out and neither the Palestinians of the West Bank, Gaza, Sinai, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq not taking part?

Neither can I.

  1. I keep thinking that netanyahu will not be prime minister when this happens.
Someone more liberal or “not from the likud party” will need to be in power at that point, because they also have to be deceived enough to allow the anti-Christ to persuade them in peace talks. I don’t see Bibi as being that guy. I could be wrong.
