Opinion: Above is a brief article about growing beliefs held by ME analysts, the Sunni Arab world, and Joe Biden’s administration.
What these world leaders and analysts fail to understand is that Middle East peace brings together both the Old and the New Testaments, describing the conditions that will be on earth at the time of the “The Day of the Lord”, or the 7 year tribulation.
Daniel 9:27 “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease …”
Antichrist will confirm, not create, a peace treaty already in place (from the time of the Trump administration’s Abraham Accords) between Israel and a growing number of Sunni Arab nations. With the Church having been taken safely into the heavenlies (1 Thess. 4:16-17) and to the astonishment of the rest of the world, Antichrist will build a temple to win over the hearts and minds of the Jews, while at the same time, calming Israel’s Arab enemies.
The duration for the peace treaty will be for 1 week (in Hebrew= 7 years). At this point Antichrist will be hailed a conquering hero having established peace with no bloodshed (Rev. 6:1-2), that no world leader before him could achieve.
Imagine the elation and adoration he will receive from Jew and Gentile:
1 Thessalonians 5:3:“For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” 1 Thess 5:3.
In the middle of the week (3.5 years later), Antichrist will stand in that temple, declare himself god, and demand that the Jews worship him.
Now watch how Jesus Himself wanted to prepare His people for this event:
Matthew 24:15-16: “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”
In the same way, the Jews of Arabia in the 7th century rejected Muhammad’s attempts to convert them to his new religion, thereby enraging him to try to kill all the Jews of Arabia. Antichrist, indwelt by Satan, will fly into a rage with the intention to finish off what Muhammad, Hitler, and Arafat could not.
The Day of the Lord is a future time when God will turn His attention to saving Jacob. And once again we can draw from both the OT and NT for confirmation.
Jeremiah 30:7 “Alas! For that day is great,
So that none is like it;
And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble,
But he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:7
Romans 11:26-27: And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
