“Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split” Matthew 27:51.

At the moment of the death of Jesus, the curtain was torn from top to bottom.

The curtain separated the holy place (temple) from the Holy of Holies

Before Jesus’ death, only the High Priest could enter to atone for the sins of the people

The thick curtain was ripped from top to bottom signifying that God is the One who tore the curtain

God showed us that access to Himself is no longer only open to the priest on our behalf but is open to everyone!

“I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.” Selah Psalm 32:5
