This was a doubly unprecedented targeting of the United States military. As a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Turkey is a capital-A ally, treaty-bound to defend the collective security of all its 28 nation members, including the United States.
Turkey is also part of a select group of five NATO members—along with Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy—whose territory hosts American nuclear weapons, too. more …
Opinion: We have been warning about the intentions of Turkey’s president the entire time this blog has been in existence. We first learned about the identity of the northern tribes that will attack Israel in the last days in the 1970’s ground breaking book “The Late Great Planet Earth”, by Hal Lindsey. But it was in Joel Rosenberg’s best seller “Epicenter”, in 2006, that Turkey was identified as Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:6).
I checked in on Rosenberg’s blog last night to see what he had to say about the current Turkey/Kurds/Syria crisis.
“Recip Erdogan is not a serious, trustworthy ally. He’s a monster who wants to rebuild the Ottoman Empire. He is an Islamist who supports Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood terror movements. A few years ago, he arrested upwards of 200,000 Turks in a brazen crackdown on his political enemies. He’s allowed thousands of ISIS terrorists to criss-cross his territory unchecked. Now, his forces are killing Kurds, creating a new refugee crisis, and further destabilizing the disaster in Syria that was created by Bashar Assad, Vladimir Putin and the Iranians. I struggle to understand how Erdogan is still a member of NATO.”
The good news, if there are any, is the nukes are deep inside Incerlik vaults that are protected by permissive action links—essentially, access entry codes—on the bombs themselves. However the New Republic points out that given enough time, they could be used to unleash deadly radiation.
