JNS: U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides on Wednesday said it is his guiding principle to advance a two-state solution with the Palestinians because failure to do so is making it difficult to ensure his “North Star” of “maintaining Israel as both a Jewish and democratic state.”
Speaking to reporters at a briefing in Jerusalem, Nides noted that U.S. President Joe Biden “articulated very clearly his support for a two-state solution” on his recent trip to Israel, and that “every speech that I give, Secretary [of State Antony] Blinken gives, that the president gives, that [Vice President] Kamala Harris gives, all reference that.
“In order to push for a two-state solution, we need to be doing things to help the Palestinian people,” said Nides. This primarily entails improving economic conditions.
“We can’t lose the Palestinian street,” he continued, naming this as one of the reasons Biden visited a hospital in the eastern part of Jerusalem during his trip to Israel in July.
Nides also encouraged Israeli authorities to work towards enhancing freedom of movement for Palestinians, including through the Allenby Bridge crossing with Jordan, and by providing them with a more sophisticated cellular-communications network. Read More …
Article: He (Nides) simultaneously hailed Biden’s decision to restore economic aid to the Palestinian Authority, to the tune of $500 million annually, after former President Donald Trump had cut funding to Ramallah, primarily over its “pay-for-slay” policy of disbursing monthly stipends to terrorists jailed in Israel and to the families of those killed while perpetrating attacks on Israelis.
Ya know what? That is not the main problem.
All the political speeches, both from the left and right, ignore Bible prophecy on the matter: Israel will be divided again (Zech. 14:2) regardless of what anyone says and the people and nations who do it will be accountable to a Holy God.
1“For behold, in those days and at that time,
When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:1-2
Verse 1. Those days and that time are beginning right now: the captives (exiled Jews), are making their way (aliyah) back to the land.
Verse 2. While we do not know for certain where the Valley of Jehoshaphat (mentioned only once) is, we can assume it is in Jerusalem, where some scholars suggest is the future valley to be formed by Jesus’ return (Zech. 14:4).
The reason for the Judgment is the dividing of His land. The timing for this judgment is the end of the tribulation when Jesus Christ returns to judge the nations for the treatment of God’s people and land during the 7 year tribulation. That land was given to Abraham and his descendants Isaac and Jacob ONLY.
In fact, God repeated the covenant to Abraham of blessings and curses (Genesis 12:3) to Jacob (Genesis 27:29):
“May peoples serve you, nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers may your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be those who curse you and blessed be those who bless you!”
Jesus referred to this judgment using a Sheep and Goat metaphor …
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” Matthew 25:31-33
… combining Joel 3:1-2 with Matthew 25:31-33 provides a stark warning to Gentiles (goats) who promote dividing God’s land.
