‘Truth Will Prevail:’ Calls for Justice From Family Continue as US Says Ready to Take Custody of Daniel Pearl Killer

Algemeiner: The sister of Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl told a Pakistani newspaper Friday that the “truth will prevail” in the case of his killer Ahmad Omar Saeed Sheikh, as the United States said it was “ready to take custody” of the perpetrator after he was ordered released by Pakistan’s high court.

“While we remain grateful for the Pakistani government’s opposition to these acquittals on appeal, in light of the Supreme Court’s decision, the Department of Justice reiterates that the United States stands ready to take custody of Sheikh to stand trial here on the pending charges against him,” said Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson in a statement Thursday. “He must not be permitted to evade justice for his charged role in Daniel Pearl’s abduction and murder.”

On Friday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi about how to “ensure accountability” for Sheikh and “reinforcing” American concerns about the ruling, according to State Department spokesperson Ned Price.

Emotional Keystone Pipeline Worker Blasts Biden for Firing Workers ‘by Signing a Piece of Paper’

Breitbart: Just as Joe Biden started his new job as president, he used his pen to end the jobs of thousands by pulling the permit for construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Neal Crabtree is now unemployed and so is the team who worked under him.

Biden’s decision immediately cost about 11,000 jobs, many of them union jobs. As Breitbart News reported, one expert said Biden’s other climate change order to stop drilling leasing on public land could cost as many as a million U.S. jobs.

Crabtree posted about it on his Facebook page: “I got laid off for political reasons and stupidity and the future doesn’t look so bright. I’ve got a sickening feeling in my stomach … I went to my truck and literally cried.”

Fox News interviewed Crabtree and asked him about his reaction to the news about Biden’s executive order.

“The president was able to put us out of work by signing a piece of paper,” Crabtree said as he struggled to keep his emotions in check. “I’m the one that had to look these people in the eye and tell them they didn’t have a job anymore.”

LifeSiteNews joins March for Life, interviews marchers who refused to be ‘canceled’

LifeSite News: (Yesterday) despite the cancellation of the official March for Life as it normally exists, and against the bitter cold, LifeSiteNews headed to Washington, D.C. to join “thousands of people” who had “come from all over the country to make their voices heard,” LifeSiteNews’s Jim Hale said.

A large crowd was gathered peacefully outside D.C.’s Planned Parenthood, some standing with signs supporting life, while others could be seen kneeling and praying with rosaries in hand.

Fr. Greg Shaffer of Assumption Church in southeast D.C. addressed the crowd. Shaffer lauded those gathered, saying that even though the march was canceled, “Here you are doing something for life … we have to be here for life.” He noted the fruits of coming to pray and demonstrate for the pro-life cause, informing his listeners that “hundreds of these places (Planned Parenthood facilities) have closed by praying.”

Hale agreed, advising that “(i)t is more important to support the pro-life movement, now more than ever, because miracles are still happening in front of these abortion mills every single day.”

Iran Turns Gaza Into Storehouse for Weapons

Gatestone Institute:

  • Instead of storing medicine and vaccines, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are busy storing rockets and explosive devices.
  • The Palestinian terror groups that moan about a crippling economic crisis in the Gaza Strip somehow always seem to find enough money to purchase, smuggle or manufacture weapons.
  • In addition, Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups have frequently violated the laws of war by firing rockets from within populated areas.
  • It is important to stress that Hamas is planning to participate in the election while continuing to store weapons in residential areas in the Gaza Strip.
  • Had the explosion in Bet Hanoun been caused by Israel, international media outlets would have been falling over themselves to shout about another Israeli “war crime.” Perhaps it is time to heed the postings…. that call out the true enemy: Hamas, PIJ, and other Palestinian terrorist groups. Dow drops more than 600 points Friday, suffers worst week since October amid GameStop trading frenzy

CNBC: U.S. stocks fell sharply on Friday, wrapping up a roller-coaster week on Wall Street as heightened speculative trading by retail investors continued to unnerve the market.

The Dow Jones Industrial average lost 620.74 points, or 2%, to 29,982.62, the first time the 30-stock gauge has closed below the 30,000 mark since Dec. 14. The S&P 500 fell 1.9% to 3,714.24 as 10 sectors registered losses. The Nasdaq Composite slid 2% to 13,070.69 as Apple dropped 3.7% and other major tech names slipped.

All three major averages dropped more than 3% this week, posting their worst week since October. For January, the blue-chip Dow and the S&P 500 fell 2% and 1.1%, respectively, suffering their first negative month in four. The tech-heavy Nasdaq eked out a 1.4% gain on the month.

Shares of GameStop jumped 67.9% after Robinhood said it would allow limited buying of the stock and other heavily shorted names after restricting access the day before. Robinhood raised more than $1 billion from its existing investors overnight, in addition to tapping bank credit lines, to ensure it had the capital required to allow some trading again in volatile stocks like GameStop.

Investors are concerned that if GameStop continues to rise in such a volatile fashion, it may ripple through the financial markets, causing losses at brokers like Robinhood and forcing hedge funds who bet against the stock to sell other securities to raise cash. Read More

Legacy Media Largely Ignore Damning Report About NY Nursing Home Deaths

Daily Wire: Major news networks paid very little coverage Friday to the recent report claiming the number of coronavirus-related nursing home deaths in New York was much higher than the state reported.

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC collectively devoted approximately 10 minutes to covering a report that Attorney General Letitia James released Thursday alleging that the state’s numbers were as high as 50% underreported, according to Fox News

Chris Cuomo Rants About CNN Job During SiriusXM Interview

CNN, where Cuomo’s brother works, spent about eight minutes on the story, and MSNBC gave it less than three minutes. NBC “Nightly News” spent all of 86 seconds on it.

ABC’s “World News Tonight” and “Good Morning America” did not cover the story at all.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cuomo sent “recovering COVID-19 patients from hospitals into nursing homes,” where the disease ravaged elderly populations and possibly led to as many as 11,000 fatalities, according to an investigation by the Associated Press. Despite taking flak for the decision, many in the media have lauded Cuomo for his leadership, and he even won an Emmy for his daily COVID-19 press briefings. Read More

Merck Scraps COVID Vaccines; Says It’s More Effective To Get The Virus And Recover

Summit News: Vaccine manufacturer Merck has abandoned development of two coronavirus vaccines, saying that after extensive research it was concluded that the shots offered less protection than just contracting the virus itself and developing antibodies.

The company announced that the shots V590 and V591 were ‘well tolerated’ by test patients, however they generated an ‘inferior’ immune system response in comparison with natural infection.

The company stated that instead it will focus on research into therapeutic drugs labeled as MK-7110 and MK-4482.

The drugs aim to protect patients from the damage of an overactive immune response to the virus.

“Interim results from a Phase 3 study showed a greater than 50 percent reduction in the risk of death or respiratory failure in patients hospitalized with moderate to severe COVID-19,” the company’s statement noted of the MK-7110 drug.

Iranian general: ‘We will level Tel Aviv if Israel makes slightest mistake’

JNS: Iranian army spokesperson Brig. Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi on Wednesday dismissed remarks made a day earlier by Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi as “psychological warfare,” warning that the “slightest mistake” by Israel would lead the Islamic Republic to “level Haifa and Tel Aviv.”

On Tuesday, Kochavi said the IDF was preparing offensive contingencies against Iran and warned the Biden administration against rejoining the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

In an address to the Institute for National Security Studies, Kochavi said that a return to the deal, even with some improvements, “is bad operationally and bad strategically.” He said allowing Iran to proceed with its nuclear program would be “an unacceptable threat and will lead to nuclear proliferation across the region.”

Shekarchi told Iran’s the semi-official Tasnim News Agency: “If we notice the slightest mistake on the part of the Zionist regime towards the regime of the Islamic Republic, we will strike both the missile bases, which, according to them, are intended to strike Iran, and in the shortest time will level Haifa and Tel Aviv to the ground.”

Rand Paul’s disturbing face-mask prediction

WND:  U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, a medical doctor by profession, made an unnerving prediction about masks on Wednesday, saying mandates to wear facial coverings are never going away as long as the political left is in charge.

“They will never relent. These people are never gonna let you not wear a mask,” the Kentucky Republican told Todd Herman, the fill-in host on Rush Limbaugh’s national broadcast.

“I promise you, you will never get out from the mask because they’re saying that even after all are vaccinated, we don’t know, you still might catch it a little bit, you still might transmit it, even after everybody’s vaccinated. So don’t listen to these people.”
