EU court rules: Food made in Israeli West Bank settlements must carry special labels

The JC: The European Court of Justice said on Tuesday that items must be clearly labelled if they originate from an Israeli settlement.

The ruling concludes a long-running case brought by Psagot, a winemaker based in a West Bank settlement north of Jerusalem, which was challenging labelling requirements in France.

“Foodstuffs originating in the territories occupied by the State of Israel must bear the indication of their territory of origin,” the Luxembourg-based court said in a statement, adding that if it they came from a settlement, they must carry an “indication of that provenance”.

The West Bank and East Jerusalem were captured by Israel during the Six Day War in 1967, and the first settlements were established shortly afterwards.

Today nearly 700,000 Israelis live in both areas, amounting to nearly a tenth of Israel’s entire Jewish population. The international community (UN), including Britain, considers the territory to be occupied by Israel and opposes settlement construction. more …

Opinion: Labeling by any other name is still jihad.

April 21, 2019 President Trump blessed Israel again with a change in the US State Department  annual report on human rights violations around the world. There was one big difference from past reports: It no longer refers to the West Bank as “occupied.”

The word occupied is being used to justify economic jihad against people and land that was first designated by God to be His people and His land:

“The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is Mine, for you are strangers and sojourners with me.” Leviticus 25:23

God warned that the land must not be divided:

And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:2

In 586 BC the Jews were removed from the land after disobeying God’s command on the Sabbath rest and worship of false gods. In fulfillment of Jeremiah 29:10 they were restored to the land 70 years later.

In 70 AD, God’s people were dispersed to the 4 corners of the earth and God promised them they would be restored (Ezekiel 34:11-16, 36:8-12, 37:1-2).

In 1917, Britain signed the Balfour Letter re-establishing Israel to its original God-given boundaries. By 1948 Britain reneged on the boundaries and gave 78% of Israel’s land to Jordan (Malachi 1:4). Britain’s mighty empire began to decline in accordance with Genesis 12:3.

On May 14, 1948 Israel became a nation again, with the same language (Zephaniah 3:9), but with far less land than God had given Abraham. A series of wars then placed Judea in the cross hairs and Jordan occupied it until the miraculous 1967 Six Day War victory, uniting east and west Jerusalem for the first time in almost 2000 years.

The secular left nations cannot get over that victory as world leaders continue to demand that Israel give back Jacob’s land to Esau (Genesis 27:34-40) and insist on calling it occupied.

“And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” Luke 21:24

Luke tells us that the Arab/Gentile occupation of Jacob’s land will continue until the last Gentile God wants saved gets saved.

In rapid fire:

  • The church is taken up to the New Jerusalem (1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thess. 4:16-17; John 14:3)
  • Edom who is Esau is destroyed (Obad. 1:18; Isa. 63:1-2)
  • God saves the Jewish remnant (Zech. 12:10; Rom. 11:25-27)
  • Jesus returns in glory (the times of the Gentiles ends) (Rev. 19:11-16)
  • The millennial reign begins (Rev. 20:1-2)
