Yahoo News: The European Union unveiled plans Thursday for a digital ID wallet that residents could use to access services across the 27-nation bloc, part of a post-pandemic recovery strategy that involves accelerating the shift to an online world.

Opinion: A major development in government control of 27 nation states. That it is happening in the EU, the most likely location for the revived Rome Empire, heightens our interest.

First the sales pitch:

  • All necessary ID in one place
  • Proof of address and age
  • Rent a car in minutes
  • Opening bank accounts with ease
  • Signing apartment leases
  • Enrolling in universities outside an individual’s home country
  • Proof of vaccinations
  • The digital wallet will not be mandatory
  • The digital wallet “will enable citizens to do in any member state what they do at home without any extra cost and fewer hurdles”

Then the evolution:

The digital wallet is planned for fall 2022 and will provide a perfect precursor to a permanent mark on a citizen’s body.

He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has [a]the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17
