(A flotilla of Iranian warships is escorting the country’s trade vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden)
The Algemeiner: Israel has discovered what it described as the most significant Iranian military presence in the Red Sea in the past decade, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz revealed on Tuesday.
“Today, we can confirm that Iran is methodically basing itself in the Red Sea, with warships patrolling the southern region,” Gantz said. “It is a direct threat to international trade, energy supply, and the global economy.”
The defense minister cautioned that Iran’s recent test of a satellite launcher from the Semnan province demonstrates a capacity to make intercontinental ballistic missiles reaching as far as the center of Europe. Read More …
Opinion: As the Israelites were fleeing from Egypt, having just crossed the Red Sea, Exodus 17:8 records “Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.”
The Israelite camp at Rephidim is approx. 110 miles, from the Red Sea.
That Iran is establishing a naval base in the Red Sea is a bone-chilling reenactment of a criminal returning to the scene of a crime. Iran, or Persia, is the place where the King of Amalek fled to after Israel’s king Saul disobeyed God’s command to kill all the Amalekites:
Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt. 3 Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ” 1 Samuel 15:2-3
The next time we find a descendant of Amalek is in one called Haman in Persia. After thousands of posts and a book on this eternal enemy of the Jews, I am in amazement by how Biblical history continues to confirm Exodus 17:16:
“Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
Excerpt: Antichrist: The Search For Amalek:
“Haman was an Agagite, a descendant of Agag, king of Amalek.
An Agagite is an Amalekite, and Amalek was a descendant
Haman’s lineage is given in the Targum Sheni as follows: “Haman
the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, son of Srach, son of Buza,
son of Iphlotas, son of Dyosef, son of Dyosim, son of Prome, son
of Ma’dei, son of Bla’akan, son of Intimrom, son of Harirom, son
of Sh’gar, son of Nigar, son of Farmashta, son of Vayezatha, son of
Agag, son of Sumki, son of Amalek, son of the concubine of Eliphaz,
firstborn son of Esau.”
After 3500 years, the bloodline of Esau is still at it, and will be until the only Person who can end it returns to solve the oldest blood feud the world has ever known.
It started with a bowl of red lentil soup Genesis 25:29-34 …
“Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom.
31 But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.”
32 And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”
33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.”
So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”
It ends with the return of Jesus Christ …
Who is this who comes from Edom,
With dyed garments from Bozrah,
This One who is glorious in His apparel,
Traveling in the greatness of His strength?—
“I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2 Why is Your apparel red,
And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress?
3 “I have trodden the winepress alone,
And from the peoples no one was with Me.
For I have trodden them in My anger,
And trampled them in My fury;
Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments,
And I have stained all My robes.”
