Israel 365: “Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah in Cairo this week. The three leaders pledged “to work together to refine a vision to activate efforts aimed at resuming negotiations, and work with brothers and partners to revive the peace process”, according to a statement released by Egypt’s presidency.
In an address at the Cairo talks, Abbas said that although an escalation of Israeli “violations” had made a two-state solution in line with international law unattainable, the PA was committed to peaceful methods.
The “two-state solution” calls for the creation of a Palestinian state inside Israel’s borders, ethnically cleansed of Jews with its capitol in Jerusalem. Jews will be prohibited from the holy sites like the Western Wall and the Temple Mount.
English language WAFA News quoted Abbas as saying, “[The Palestinian leadership] will continue to work for the unification of our land and people and the achievement of national interests, on the basis of everyone’s commitment to international legitimacy.” Read More …
Opinion: “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:3
Mahmoud Abbas always has his sights on Jerusalem. Now that Barack Obama’s second in command is in charge, the old terrorist knows this is his chance. The two state solution with an Arab capital in Jerusalem is back, as Joe Biden revives Barack Obama’s disastrous Middle East policy.
It is not a surprise that Abbas is overjoyed that Donald Trump, who took the two state solution off the table, is out of the picture. But what is interesting to me is that Abbas knows he has the support of ‘Christian’ churches.
Article: Chief among the American public that has turned against “racist Israel” were the left-wing US Jews and anti-Israel churches such as the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church.
The writer of the article may or may not know that he could have added the Catholic church and several more Protestant denominations with the anti-Israel crowd that use the word ‘occupation’ to describe Israel’s presence in the land God promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis 17:7-8).
Theologies that Divide Christians:
Replacement Theology: Teaches that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. Adherents of replacement theology believe the Jews are no longer God’s chosen people, and God does not have specific future plans for the nation of Israel.
It is currently the most widely held belief in Catholic teaching as well as the World Council of Churches, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Methodist Church, the Lutheran Church (ELCA), the Episcopal Church and the United Church of Christ.
Covenant Theology: The majority teaching for Protestantism since the time of the Reformation, and is the system favored by Reformed or Calvinist churches.
They say, the Church doesn’t replace Israel; the Church is Israel and Israel is the Church (Galatians 6:16). All people who are redeemed are ‘Israel’.
Dispensational theology: Began in the 18th century with a return to the Apostolic literal interpretation of Scripture which says there are two distinct peoples of God: Israel and the Church.
Dispensationalists believe that salvation has always been by faith—in God in the Old Testament and, specifically, in God the Son in the New Testament.
