Telegraph UK: “We want to resolve all these questions in our own interest, and we can do that best if we consider the interests of others,” Merkel said in a text of the message her office released ahead of a scheduled Monday broadcast.
“That is the lesson from the two world wars of the last century,” she added. “But this conviction is no longer shared today by everyone, and certainties of international cooperation are coming under pressure.”
“In such a situation, we must again stand up for, argue and fight more strongly for our convictions,” Merkel said. “And we must take on more responsibility in our own interests.”
Opinion: Forbes Magazine listed the four most powerful people on earth for 2018:
- Xi Jinping
- Vladimir Putin
- Donald Trump
- Angela Merkel
Mrs. Merkel’s comment follows EU Commission president Jean Claude Junker’s 2017 call for ‘one person to steer the EU ship’. Both, according to the prophet Daniel and the Apostle John will get their wish.
While Daniel 7:23 and Revelation 13:1 do not use the words one world government or one world leader, they do, however, provide ample evidence to enable us to draw the conclusion that both will exist in the last days:
“Thus he said:
‘The fourth beast shall be
A fourth kingdom on earth,
Which shall be different from all other kingdoms,
And shall devour the whole earth,
Trample it and break it in pieces.”
“Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.”
In Revelation 13:4 John prophesies the world leader will be assassinated and stage a false resurrection:
“And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.”
His power from that point on comes from Satan:
“So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
Daniel 7:24 tells us that at that time the world will have been divided into 10 divisions each with its own leader:
“The ten horns are ten kings
Who shall arise from this kingdom.
And another shall rise after them;
He shall be different from the first ones,
And shall subdue three kings.”
An 11th leader called “little horn” will emerge and overthrow 3 kings on his way to amassing tremendous power.
Daniel 9:26 then pinpoints this 11th king will come from somewhere inside the boundaries of the Roman Empire:
” … And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.”
