Zero Hedge: According to the latest OECD data, Iceland continues to have one of the highest levels of antidepressant use in the world – with an average consumption of 16 daily doses per 100 inhabitants in 2021.
In general, the northern countries are among the biggest consumers, with Canada and Sweden also showing a ratio of over 10 doses per 100 inhabitants per day.
As Statista’s Martin Armstrong shows in the infographic below, antidepressant use has become more widespread all around the world, with major increases from 2015 to 2020 or 2021 observed in Iceland, Portugal and Sweden, as well as Belgium and Greece.

Little evidence that chemical imbalance causes depression, UCL scientists find
Scientists have called into question the widespread use of antidepressants after a major review found “no clear evidence” that low serotonin levels are responsible for depression.
“Many people take antidepressants because they have been led to believe their depression has a biochemical cause, but this new research suggests this belief is not grounded in evidence,” said the study’s lead author, Joanna Moncrieff, a professor of psychiatry at University College London and consultant psychiatrist at North East London NHS foundation trust. Within every man, woman, and child is a built in need for their Creator. When God is ignored, a placebo, or anything that seems to be “real” — but isn’t, be it a pill, or a shot, is a dangerous substitute.
“And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Revelation 9:21
In the 2nd set of 7 Trumpet judgments of the tribulation, in the midst of devastating death and destruction, men will continue to rely on their sorceries which in the Greek, is ‘pharmakeia‘, meaning the use or the administering of drugs.
In the same way, at the end of the tribulation the use of drugs will be rampant:
“The voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.” Revelation 18:23
The scene is the fall of Babylon at the end of the great tribulation. God is about to bring judgment on the kings of the earth as they will mourn the loss of the source of their luxury.
