Are We Falling As Rome Did?

Zero Hedge: 3, 2, 1… Timber! A Philosopher’s Take on the Collapse of Our Civilization

Growing disparities in wealth, a housing and gas crisis, transhumanism galloping over the horizon, heroized incivility, and the constant threat of viruses, the “cures” for which may be worse than the diseases. Global politics feels eerily apocalyptic these days and, in our own little worlds, many of us are so lost, so unmoored from the comforts of our pre-pandemic lives, that we don’t know which end is up or what the future will hold. Investigative journalist Trish Wood recently wrote that we are living the fall of Rome (though it’s being pushed on us as a virtue).

I wonder, are we falling as Rome did? Is it possible that our civilization is on the verge of collapse? Not imminent collapse, perhaps, but are we taking the initial steps that civilizations before ours took before their eventual downfalls? Will we suffer the fates of the Indus, the Vikings, the Mayans, and the failed dynasties of China? Read More …

Opinion: The west will collapse, but not disappear like the Vikings, Mayans and other failed dynasties. A Biblical analogy is Babylon fell to Medo Persia, who fell to Greece, who fell to Rome. The West, US and EU, will fall to revived Rome.

” … And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary …” Daniel 9:26.

Led by the most powerful and evil dictator (prince who is to come) that has ever lived, the Bible tells us that what is coming is the revived Roman empire, which Daniel calls the 4th beast (since Rome was never conquered, ancient Rome and revived Rome are counted as one empire).

“After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.” Daniel 7:7

The 4th beast with 10 horns (kings/presidents) will rise to power and dominate the world in the last days. Daniel prophesied an eleventh king to rise up among them.

“I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.” Daniel 7:8

Daniel’s eleventh king eliminates 3 kings on his way to total domination of the world. This king, Antichrist, will come in peace depicted in Revelation 6:1-2, carrying a bow with no arrows, but instead will take peace from the earth (Revelation 6:3-4) with wars and rumors of war (Matthew 24:6), and will wreak havoc on God’s chosen people.

This new king will allow the Jews to build a temple (Daniel 9:27), but when he demands worship and is rebuffed, he will enter the temple, cancel animal sacrifice, and declare himself god and attempt to finish what Hitler started.

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Matthew 24:15-16

The time of trouble for Jacob (Israel), Jeremiah 30:7, will begin.

It is in the mountains of Edom (Mt.Seir/Petra) where Jesus will protect a remnant (Ezekiel 13:8) from Antichrist (Daniel 11:41) …

“He (Antichrist) shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.”

… and bring them to repentance:

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” Zechariah 12:10
