Sunday Study: Happy New Year 2023!
As a new year opens before us, we can have comfort in the fact that God sees us, hears us, and knows everything about us. Though we may face challenging situations which seemingly have no answers, we can inquire of the Lord and keep our eyes fixed on Him (2 Chronicles 20:12).
But the most important thing you can do for yourself and others is to share with them the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.
“…Who Do You Say I Am?” (Matthew 16:15)
If Jesus is not God, His death would have been insufficient to pay the penalty for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). Only God Himself could provide an infinite, eternally valuable sacrifice (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ.
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6
Make the following verses your New Year’s resolution:
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.” 1 Peter 3:15-16
May God strengthen you and bless you as you walk with Him.
