“Not Transitory” – US CEOs Warn Inflation Is “Unprecedented” And Becoming “Structural”

Zero Hedge: Some of the biggest names in business virtually attended the annual Morgan Stanley Laguna conference last week and warned about the complex nature of soaring inflation.

Much of the discussion was centered around the soaring cost of raw materials, labor, and logistical nightmares. Corporate leaders from 3M Company to Trane Technologies to General Electric Co., among others, all warned about increasing inflationary pressures, according to Bloomberg.

3M’s Chief CFO Monish Patolawala shocked attendees by calling inflation “unprecedented.” He said the impact of higher commodity prices and soaring freight prices would impact its 2021 earnings.

Trane Technologies Plc’s CFO Chris Kuehn told a very similar story: “Unprecedented is the word we’d use around the inflation side.”

At the virtual event, Morgan Stanley analyst Josh Pokrzywinski joked that everyone could check the word “unprecedented” on their 2021 bingo cards.

But what has become an increasing concern, pointed out by General Electric’s CEO Larry Culp, is that inflationary pressures are “increasingly getting structural in nature.”

David Petratis, CEO of lock maker Allegion Plc, said inflationary pressures might stick around two to three years. He said his company is preparing for more persistent inflation, adding “it’s not a transitory situation.” Read More

UK Liberal Democrats call for boycott of Judea and Samaria goods

Arutz Sheva: The UK Liberal Democrats have passed a resolution in favor of a boycott on goods from Judea and Samaria, the Jewish News reported.

The measure, which passed with overwhelming support, calls for “a ban on UK trade with the illegal Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory.” It was voted on at the party’s annual convention.

The Liberal Democrats, a centre to centre-left liberal political party that from 2010 to 2015 was part of a coalition government with the Conservative Party, held the conference on Monday behind an online paywall.

The resolution stated: “Illegal Israeli settlements represent a de facto annexation of Palestinian territory and that such settlements are a major but not sole factor in making the search for a lasting peace ever more difficult to achieve.”

Natural News: Fans of Amazon are sure to be receptive to the online e-tail behemoth’s latest technology, Fire TVs, because they will simply make streaming the company’s video offerings, programs and movies that much easier.

AOC Calls for Arms Boycott of Israel

Jewish Press: Israel’s Ambassador to the US and United Nations Gilad Erdan has accused Democratic New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of legitimizing Hamas’ “attacks against innocent civilians, as well as anti-Semitic lies,” after she called for an arms boycott on Israel.

Ocasio-Cortez announced Friday that she introduced seven amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the annual budget and expenditures of the US Department of Defense, including the blocking of specific US weapons transactions to the Israeli government “over the bombing of Palestinian civilians, and media centers.”

She may be referring to the Israeli Air Force (IAF) bombing of a building housing the Associated Press’ (AP) Gaza bureau in May during Operation Guardian of the Walls, because it was serving Hamas terrorists who were developing technology to jam Israel’s Iron Dome aerial defense system.

The building that was bombed housed Hamas military intelligence offices, its research and technological development department, and technological systems that enabled terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens.

3,728,600 reasons the escaped terrorists chose to return to prison quietly

Pal Watch: On September 11, 2021, Israeli security forces managed to capture four of the six terrorists who escaped from the Gilboa prison just days earlier. The terrorists did not resist their re-arrest.

While their escape was clearly the result of a substantial failure on the part of the Israeli Prison Service, their relatively quiet re-capture could well be the function of the comfortable life in Israeli prison while accumulating massive salaries, from the Palestinian Authority.

According to calculations made by Palestinian Media Watch, based on the official PA terrorist salary pay scale, prior to the escape of the terrorists, the PA had already paid them a minimum cumulative sum of 3,728,600 shekels ($1,165,125).

Leading the payments was Mahmoud Ardah, who was arrested in 1996 and sentenced to life and another 15 years. To reward Ardah for his terrorist activities, to date the PA has paid him a total of 1,156,000 shekels ($361,230). For the last 60 months, Ardah had been receiving 8,000 shekels ($2,471). On Sept. 21, he will complete 25 years in prison. Accordingly, in his September “pay check”, he will receive a salary rise to 10,000 shekels/month ($3,089)

The second highest paid of the escaped terrorists is Muhammad Ardah, an Islamic Jihad member who was put on trial and convicted for his part in initiating and executing a suicide bombing on Nov. 29, 2001, in which 3 people were murdered and many others were wounded. To reward Ardah for blowing up a bus, the PA has already paid him a total of 903,200 shekels ($282,235). Arrested in May 2002, this Ardah receives 7,000 shekels/month ($2,162). At one point, demonstrators took over an entire area of downtown Seattle, completely obliterating official law and order for a number of weeks.

Back from their summer recesses, Democrats in Congress are moving quickly to advance Biden’s radical, multi-trillion-dollar “Build Back Better” spending package. House committees have already finished drafting proposals for a record-breaking $3.5 trillion “human infrastructure” budget reconciliation bill strongly backed by the White House.
