Netanyahu: In 2013, John Kerry Offered Israel to Adopt ‘Afghanistan Model’ with PA

Jewish Press: Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused an offer by the US to adopt the now failed “Afghanistan Model” and rely on Palestinian Authority security forces for security, Netanyahu posted on Facebook today.

The former prime minister revealed Wednesday that in 2013, he was approached by then US Secretary of State John Kerry, who invited him on a secret visit to Afghanistan to see, as he explained, how the US had set up a local military force that could stand alone against terrorism.

“He leads counselors away plundered,
And makes fools of the judges.” Job 12:17

“The message was clear – the ‘Afghanistan model’ is the model that the United States seeks to apply to the Palestinian issue as well,” he wrote.

He “politely declined” the offer and rejected the idea.

Taliban Shoots Woman for Not Wearing Burqa on Same Day it Vows to Honor Women’s rights

New York Post: Taliban fighters shot and killed a woman for not wearing a burqa in Afghanistan Tuesday — the same day the group pledged to usher in a new inclusive era in the country that honors “women’s rights.”

A photo emerged of a woman in Takhar province lying in a pool of blood, with loved ones crouched around her, after she was killed by insurgents for being in public without a head covering, according to Fox News.

“Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Exodus 17:16

The killing came amid the outfit’s version of a charm offensive, after its swift takeover of the country in the absence of US troops, who had been propping up allied military groups since shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The Taliban reportedly killed a woman when she was seen in public without a head covering.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid held a news conference to say that the insurgents would honor women’s rights, within the highly restrictive Sharia law. The militants urged women to return to school and work, and another Taliban spokesman granted a televised interview to a female journalist.

Mujahid also vowed to grant amnesty to Afghans who worked with the now toppled government architected by the US. Read More

China calls for curbs on ‘excessive’ income and for the wealthy to give back more to society

CNBC: Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized at a finance and economic meeting Tuesday the need to support moderate wealth for all — or the idea of “common prosperity,” which analysts have said is behind the latest regulatory crackdown on tech companies.

Significantly, the meeting was the first Xi led publicly since a two-week quiet period. Chinese leaders typically spend early August in secret political discussions at a resort in Beidaihe, about a three hours’ drive east of Beijing.

The meeting called for the “reasonable adjustment of excessive incomes and encouraging high income groups and businesses to return more to society,” state media said in Chinese, according to a CNBC translation.

Leaders also specified common prosperity does not mean prosperity for just a few and is not a form of equal distribution, state media said. Rather, progress toward the goal would occur in stages, the report said. Read More

U.S. Gov’t to Americans Trapped in Afghanistan: We ‘Cannot Guarantee Your Security’

Breitbart: The U.S. government sent a notice to Americans trying to escape Afghanistan after a rapid takeover by the Taliban over the weekend, telling them to make their way to the airport in Kabul, but that it could not guarantee their security on the way there.

A congressional aide told CBS News there were no partners left in Afghanistan to safely get the 10- to 15,000 Americans trapped around the country to the capital of Kabul.

Woe to those who enact evil statutes
And to those who constantly record unjust decisions Isaiah 10:1

Instead, a note went out to American citizens requesting to be evacuated from Afghanistan that said:

To American Citizens,

Thank you for registering your request to be evacuated from Afghanistan.   The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan has confirmed that an undefined number of U.S. government-provided flights will begin soon. Please make your way to Hamid Karzai International Airport at this time.

It said in bold and capitalized letters:

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR SECURITTY AS YOU MAKE THIS TRIP.

US Treasury Freezes Billions In Afghan Reserves, Depriving Taliban Of Cash

Zero Hedge: After handing the Taliban US-supplied military hardware on a silver platter thanks to the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, the Biden administration scrambled to deprive the terrorist organization of funding – freezing Afghan government reserves held in US bank accounts, and blocking the Taliban from accessing billions of dollars held in US institutions, according to the Washington Post, citing two people familiar with the matter.

The decision was made by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and officials in Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, the people said. The State Department was also involved in discussions this weekend, with officials in the White House monitoring the developments. An administration official said in a statement, “Any Central Bank assets the Afghan government have in the United States will not be made available to the Taliban.” The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss government policy not yet made public.

NOT THE BABYLON BEE: Biden Administration Calls for ‘Inclusive’ Government in Afghanistan

PJ Media: As the Biden administration grapples with the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, Biden’s State Department has joined with the UN Security Council in calling for a new government in Afghanistan that “is united, inclusive, and representative. Including with the full and meaningful participation of women.”

“He leads counselors away plundered,
And makes fools of the judges.” Job 12:17

Biden to Bring in 30K Afghans. Americans Left Behind Won’t Be Prioritized in Evacuation

New American: Now that the Taliban have defeated the U.S. puppet government in Afghanistan, President Biden is about to compound the error of President George W. Bush — who began the ill-fated adventure in the graveyard of empires — with two more.

First, Biden plans to import 30,000 Afghans and put them on military bases in Texas and Wisconsin. From there, of course, they’ll fan out into the heartland. But that’s not the worst of it. He will not prioritize the evacuation of remaining Americans.

Even as I have seen, Those who plow iniquity And sow trouble reap the same.” Job 4:8

So yet another predictable U.S. foreign policy debacle leads to what could become a major problem: the importation of Islamic refugees who, if they don’t become radicalized and learn to hate the country, might have children who do.

What acts of “homegrown” terror will happen one can only imagine.

Move Aside, Americans

Breitbart’s headline called the policy for what it is: “America Last.”

That’s been Biden’s immigration policy in permitting an invasion that will overwhelm Americans at home; why not extend it to Americans serving their country abroad? Read More:

The Cost of Disgrace is not Cheap

Jewish News Syndicate: For those old enough to remember the images of the last days of South Vietnam, recent events in Afghanistan are shockingly familiar. In each case, a flawed American ally facing a determined foe quickly collapsed once both sides to the conflict realized that the United States wouldn’t lift a finger to help its friends.

““Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion; For I will make your horn iron, And I will make your hooves bronze” Micah 4:13

Afghanistan was America’s longest war, and sadly, it must go down in history, like Vietnam, as one in which a superpower was defeated by a much weaker enemy. In both instances, there are good reasons to argue that defeat might have been inevitable despite the skill and bravery of the U.S. forces, and that of our allies, who fought there

And in both cases, it’s entirely likely that most Americans will—while blushing at the sight of despicable enemies gloating over their triumph, as well as the bloody consequences for those locals who fought with or helped us there—not care all that much. Our lives will go on undisturbed, even if troubling memories about.

Taliban rule will pop up on the 9/11 anniversary or when the oppression of women or other Islamist atrocities that will commence in Afghanistan are publicized.

That won’t be the case for other American allies, including those like Israelis who, thankfully, don’t depend on the presence of U.S. troops to defend them against enemies.  Read More

Who Bought the $5 Trillion Piled on the Monstrous US National Debt in 15 Months?

Wolf Street: The US gross national debt outstanding has ballooned by over $5 trillion since early March 2020, to $28.4 trillion, where it has been stuck since August 1 when the debt-ceiling farce recommenced.

The burning question is who the heck bought these Treasury securities and who is holding them, given that everyone who is buying any of them now is getting crushed by historically steep negative “real” yields, with CPI inflation outrunning even the 30-year Treasury yield by 3.5 percentage points.

“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7 NIV

The Treasury Department released its Treasury International Capital data this afternoon. It tracks foreign holdings of Treasury securities by country through June. Now we can piece the holdings together, along with: the Fed’s holdings (per its weekly balance sheet); the banks’ holdings (per the Fed’s bank data); the holdings by US government entities, such as government pension funds (per the Treasury Department’s data); and holdings by other US entities, such as mutual funds and pensions funds (per data from SIFMA). And it’s quite a show.

Huge but fading importance of foreign creditors of the US.
