Protests Begin After Chauvin Trial Delayed, Prosecution Pushes To Reinstate 3rd Degree Murder Charge

CNBC: The start of the trial of Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis Police Officer charged with killing George Floyd, has been delayed Monday by the presiding judge who has opted to wait and see whether an appeals court will reinstate a third-degree murder charge against Chauvin, which would make it easier for AG Keith Ellison & company to score a conviction in what’s expected to be one of the most high-profile trials in recent memory.

Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill, who is presiding over the trial, threw out the third-degree murder charge last fall.  On Monday, he sent prospective jurors home for the day as he said he wanted to hear from the Court of Appeals about the prosecution’s request – which was initially granted – to revive the third-degree murder charge, as well as findings about whether he has jurisdiction to try the case, an issue that has been raised by the prosecution. The appeals court found on Friday that Cahill shouldn’t have thrown out the third-degree murder charge, but Chauvin’s defense attorney, Eric Nelson, is petition the Minnesota Supreme Court to overturn the charge.

The autopsy findings potentially complicate the prosecution’s push for a murder conviction, which is why it’s hardly a surprise that prosecutors are trying to mitigate the risks of an embarrassing acquittal. Read More

It’s easy to see the future on this one. Fentanyl in Floyd’s system makes a murder conviction of any kind unlikely. Riots are coming.

German Pastor FINED for HATE SPEECH: Homosexuality Taken Directly From Scripture

Grad Mageri 422: Recently, Pastor Olaf  Latzel was fined an exorbitant amount of money because he preached from God’s Word that homosexuality is an abomination to our God.

The pastor had merely reiterated biblical teaching on homosexuality in a private seminar.

What is the significance of this case? Is there a precedent for it?

There is no precedent for it. It’s the other way around: This will serve as a precedent for future cases. That makes it so significant. We have seen this coming for a long time. Even a few years ago some conservative Christian might have already said: If I were to imagine persecution coming to Germany, I might imagine it along the lines of moral  especially sexual — ethics.

Now, with Olaf Latzel, for the first time a German court restricts religious freedom (Article 4, Basic Law) for the benefit of the homosexual lobby. Or to put it in more neutral terms: to protect the feelings and rights of homosexuals. Read More

Biden abandons Middle East peace

JNS: Lip service aside, the administration’s moves make clear that for Biden and his advisers, Arab-Israel peace is an impediment to their ideologically motivated efforts to empower the PLO and Iran.

“Then he shall confirm a [a]covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering …” Daniel 9:27

The Trump administration was on the verge of securing a peace agreement between Israel and Indonesia in its final weeks in office, according to a former senior Trump administration official involved in the efforts. The official divulged that the negotiations between Israel and the world’s most populous Muslim state were run by then-President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner and Adam Boehler, then-head of the International Development Finance Corporation.

Did Dermer Get Kushner And Flynn In Trouble? – The Forward

Israel was represented by then-Ambassador Ron Dermer and Indonesia by Minister Mohamed Lutfi. To secure peace, Boehler told Bloomberg News last December, the United States would be willing to provide Indonesia with an additional “one or two billion dollars” in aid. Indonesia was interested in Israeli technology and even wanted the Technion to open a campus in Jakarta. It wanted visa-free travel to the Jewish state and Arab and U.S. investment in its sovereign wealth fund. Israel wanted Indonesia to end its economic boycott of the Jewish state. Direct flights from Tel Aviv to Bali were on the table.

The advantages of peace between Israel and Indonesia for both sides are self-evident. But such a peace would also pay a huge dividend to the United States in its burgeoning cold war with China. An expanded strategic and economic partnership with the archipelago and ASEAN member would be a setback for China’s efforts to dominate the South China Sea, particularly with Indonesia playing a role in an Islamic-Israeli alliance led by the United States.

“We got the ball on Indonesia and Israel to the first-yard line,” the official explained. Unfortunately, the Biden administration has dropped the ball on the ground and walked off the field. Read More

World watches as Chauvin trial begins in George Floyd killing

(The Hennepin County Government Center, the site of the trial of Derek Chauvin, early Monday morning in Minneapolis)

Even before jury selection begins, Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill is likely to face motions to reinstate a third-degree murder charge and possibly postpone jury selection to give lawyers time to prepare for the new charge.

The Court of Appeals ruled late last week that Cahill erred in dismissing the third-degree murder charge against Derek Chauvin. The court asked Cahill to reconsider the charge, leaving an uncertain path forward in a high stakes trial being watched around the world. Read More

Democrats Reject Republican Attempts To Prevent Stimulus Checks From Going To Prisoners, Illegal Aliens

Zero Hedge: Senate Democrats blocked an amendment by Republicans on Saturday that would have stopped taxpayer-funded stimulus checks from going to illegal aliens and incarcerated criminals.

“Let a man meet a bear robbed of her cubs, Rather than a fool in his folly (17:12).” Proverbs 17:12

Republican Sens. Tom Cotton (AR), Ted Cruz (TX), and Bill Cassidy (LA) offered an amendment on the Senate floor to block prisoners from being able to receive stimulus checks, which was blocked in a 49-50 vote.

“The bill includes $1400 stimulus checks for individuals who make less than $75,000,” Fox News reported. “Inmates are included among those who receive stimulus checks, just as they were in both of the previous Covid relief bills that offered $1,200 and $600 checks.”

Cotton responded by highlighting some of the heinous criminals locked up in the U.S. justice system who will receive money in Biden’s stimulus deal.

“Dylann Roof murdered nine people. He’s on federal death row. He’ll be getting a $1,400 stimulus check as part of the Democrats’ ‘COVID relief’ bill,” Cotton tweeted. “Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Bomber, murdered three people and terrorized a city. He’ll be getting a $1,400 stimulus check as part of the Democrats’ ‘COVID relief’ bill.”

Iranian Militia Group Claims to Have Active Cells in Washington DC

Zero Hedge: A Telegram channel affiliated with Iran-backed militia groups in Iraq posted in English claiming to have a resistance cell with the capacity to target American troops inside the United States, according to a report.

“You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.” Ezekiel 38:16 NIV

“The axis of resistance today is stronger than before. Resistance cells are rooted even in America and its capital,” read the alleged social media post, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, which posted a screenshot of the message.

The post, which included a casket containing American soldiers, was made by the Kawtheryoon Electronic Team, a Telegram network that is said to be used by Iranian militia groups and supporters.

The Epoch Times has reached out to the Department of Defense regarding the post’s claims.

The Telegram channel post also claimed that terror factions associated with Iran are growing ever stronger and gaining more support, while it called on U.S. forces to withdraw from not only Iraq, but the Middle East entirely.

Brace For Oil Surge: Saudi Oil Tank In Ras Tanura Port Hit In Houthi Drone Attack

Zero Hedge: It’s not as if oil – the best performing class of 2021 – behind bitcoin of course – needed any more reasons to surge higher (for the latest tally please read “Saudis + Commodity Funds = Energy Stock Explosion“), but it got it moments ago when Saudi Arabia said that it had intercepted missiles and a barrage of drones launched from neighboring Yemen and which targeted Dhahran, where Saudi Aramco, the world’s biggest oil company, is headquartered, which eyewitnesses said was rocked by an explosion.

According to Bloomberg which quotes witnesses on the ground, the blast shook windows in Dhahran, which hosts a large compound for Aramco employees.

“There are reports of possible missile attacks and explosions this evening, March 7, in the tri-city area of Dhahran, Dammam, and Khobar in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province,” the U.S. consulate general in Dhahran said in a statement. Read More

GOP: Senate-Passed Relief Bill Holds ‘Host of Non-COVID-Related Left-Wing Policies’

Breitbart: GOP senators, who voted against the Democrat-led Senate’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief measure on Saturday, sharply criticized the partisan measure upon its passing, emphasizing that it is filled with a “host of non-COVID-related left-wing policies.”

“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7

The Senate passed the measure 50-49 on Saturday along party lines. Republican Rep. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) was not present for the vote as he had to travel home for a family emergency.

While Senate Democrats celebrated the measure’s passage — Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) described it as “the most significant piece of legislation to benefit working families in the modern history of this country” — Republicans warned that the bill contains a trove of left-wing pursuits unrelated to the Chinese coronavirus. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) highlighted similar concerns last week, noting that less than nine percent of the House bill went toward measures related to public health.

The last Democrat Alabama elected to the Senate was Richard Shelby

“I voted against this bill today because it could further wreck the economy and ignite inflation.  This legislation includes a host of non-COVID-related left-wing policies,” Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) said in a statement, noting that “nine percent of the funding in the bill goes toward the immediate fight against COVID and one percent toward vaccines.”

The bill, he added, includes what he described as a “massive cash bailout for some mismanaged states and local governments.” Read More

Update: Pope Pleads For Peace In Historic Meeting With Powerful Shiite Cleric In Iraq

Zero Hedge: On Saturday Pope Frances traveled to the Shia holy city of Najaf while on his four-day papal visit to Iraq – the first ever such trip by the head of the Roman Catholic Church. There he held a historic and somewhat controversial meeting with the country’s top Shiite cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, amid a massive security presence.

“Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.” Ezekiel 38:5 NIV

The 90-year old Sistani is among the most senior Shiite clerics in the world, whose quiet but powerful influence has helped shaped post-US invasion Iraq. The months in the making meeting was held in Sistani’s own home. .

Pope Francis’ main message to the top Islamic cleric during the 50-minute meeting reportedly emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians of Iraq.

Sistani likewise “affirmed his concern that Christian citizens [who] should live like all Iraqis in peace and security, and with their full constitutional rights,” according to a subsequent press release.

And a Vatican statement further said the Pope thanked al-Sistani for having “raised his voice in defense of the weakest and most persecuted.” The dialogue itself during the meeting was kept quiet.

The meeting took place in close vicinity to the golden-domed Imam Ali Shrine, among the most revered sites in Shiite Islam. The shrine was target of a major twin car bombing in August of 2003 which killed 95 people, and later claimed by al-Qaeda in Iraq. Read More

Delingpole: Lockdown Equivalent Every Two Years to Save Planet, Claim ‘Experts’

Breitbart: Carbon dioxide emissions need to fall by the equivalent of a lockdown every two years to save the planet, climate scientists have claimed.

“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22

The claim derives from a paper in the journal Nature Climate Change titled ‘Fossil CO2 emissions in the post-COVID-19 era

“who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.” Amen. Romans 1;25

According to the abstract:

Five years after the adoption of the Paris Climate Agreement, growth in global CO2emissions has begun to falter. The pervasive disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic have radically altered the trajectory of global CO2 emissions. Contradictory effects of the post-COVID-19 investments in fossil fuel-based infrastructure and the recent strengthening of climate targets must be addressed with new policy choices to sustain a decline in global emissions in the post-COVID-19 era.
