Daily Angle: The United States believes that the Afghanistan branch of the Islamic State terror poses a significant threat to retreating American troops and Afghan evacuees.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told CNN’s Brianna Keilar on Sunday’s “State of the Union” that the threat of ISIS in Afghanistan “is real. It’s acute. It is persistent. And it is something we’re focused on with every tool in our arsenal.”
Sullivan said American commanders on the ground “have a wide variety of capabilities they’re using to defend the airfield against a potential terrorist attack” and the military is working with the intelligence community to determine where a potential attack might originate.
“It is something that we are placing paramount priority on stopping or disrupting, and we’ll do everything we can as long as we’re on the ground to keep that from happening, but we are taking it absolutely deadly seriously,” he said.
Two U.S. officials quoted in a Saturday report from NBC News told the outlet that U.S. forces are actively keeping track of threats the Sunni Islamist group poses to the airport in Kabul and those trying to reach it. Read More …
Opinion: Terror groups al Qaeda and ISIS were weakened by President Donald J. Trump.
From the US Forces Afghanistan press release, April 13, 2017:
At 7:32 pm local time today, U.S. Forces – Afghanistan conducted a strike on an ISIS-K tunnel complex in Achin district, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, as part of ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS-K in Afghanistan in 2017.
The strike used a GBU-43 bomb dropped from a U.S. aircraft. The strike was designed to minimize the risk to Afghan and U.S. Forces conducting clearing operations in the area while maximizing the destruction of ISIS-K fighters and facilities.
“As ISIS-K’s losses have mounted, they are using IEDs, bunkers and tunnels to thicken their defense,” said General John W. Nicholson, Commander, U.S. Forces – Afghanistan.
MOAB “The Mother of all Bombs” sent a clear message to terror operatives around the world to go into hiding. Eight months after the 2016 Democrat sweep of Congress and the White house they’re back, and al Qaeda is reported to be embedded in over 15 Afghanistan provinces despite Joe Biden’s assertion that they are not.
The reason that progressive world leaders continually get Islamic terror wrong is a complete and total lack of understanding of Biblical prophecy:
“Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Exodus 17:16
That Amalek is the illegitimate grandson of Esau makes the two synonymous:
- Esau vowed to kill his brother Jacob Genesis 27:41
- Amalek was the first to draw blood of the Israelites in the Exodus (Deut. 25:17)
- King Saul disobeyed God’s command to destroy Amalek (1 Sam. 15:1-3)
- Amalek turned up in Persia (Iran) in one called Haman with a plan to kill to kill all Jews (Esther 3:5-6)
- Esau who is Edom (Genesis 36:1) helped the Babylonians destroy Solomon’s temple (Obadiah 1:13-15)
- Edom ‘s descendants were in southern Judea (Idumea) at the time of Jesus (Mark 3:3)
- Edom will still be here when Christ returns (Hab. 3:3; Isaiah 63:1-3)
Only then, in the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ, will the blessing of Jacob (Genesis 27:28-29) be fulfilled.
