We knew this would eventually happen. Twitter has locked PJ Media’s account and is demanding that we delete a tweet that told the truth about Rachel Levine’s gender. You remember Levine. He’s Joe Biden’s transgender assistant secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and, if you believe the Washington Post, the “first-ever female four-star admiral” in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

PJM’s Matt Margolis took issue with that claim in an article titled: “Rachel Levine Is Not the ‘First Female Four-Star Admiral’… Because He’s a Male.” He wrote:
Even if you believe that gender is a social construct and subject to how one feels and not dependent on biology, sex chromosomes determine whether an individual is male or female. Rachel Levine is 100 percent male, right down to his DNA. He is not a female. He may have grown his hair out and changed his name to a woman’s name, but that doesn’t make him a female.

As far as Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid are concerned, this week has brought a perfect storm of circumstances that threaten to complicate their hopes for a better relationship with the United States.
Both men, each for their own reasons, see establishing a good rapport with President Joe Biden and his administration as one of the main goals of their coalition government that took office in June.

But blistering criticism was issued by the U.S. State Department on two issues: its renewed commitment to reopening a U.S. consulate in Jerusalem and settlement building in the West Bank. On top of that is the news that Iran is returning to nuclear talks in Vienna. They were body blows to hopes that their ousting of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is viewed by Biden’s team as the devil incarnate, would ensure the president’s goodwill and protect them against the kind of hostility that was the hallmark of U.S. attitudes towards Jerusalem the last time Democrats were in power.
Perhaps they knew that the announcement that a few thousand new homes would be built in existing West Bank settlements, as well as the designation of six Palestinian non-governmental organizations as terror groups, would provoke Washington’s ire.
The two are also painfully aware that their attempts have failed to persuade the Americans to back off their determination to renew efforts to appease Iran and bring it back into a nuclear deal that Israelis believe is a disaster.

Treasury Department calls for stablecoin regulations

The President’s Working Group on Financial Markets called for bank-like regulatory oversight of stablecoins in a much-anticipated report.
The report highlights gaps in regulation to reduce risks and calls for several legislative moves.

It calls for Congress to pass legislation requiring stablecoin issuers to be insured depository institutions in order to prevent against a “run on the bank,” it calls for legislation to require wallet providers to have federal oversight to address payments risk, and it calls for legislation to make stablecoin issuers comply with rules that limit affiliations with other commercial entities.
In the meantime, it calls for agencies to address some of the risks that stablecoins present to the financial system, including the Financial Stability Oversight Council, such as designating certain stablecoin activities as “systemically important payment, clearing, and settlement activities.”

Rally against anti-Semitism organized after Torah vandalized at George Washington University

Chabad at George Washington University will join with members of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and others on Monday at 5 p.m. for a “Torah procession and solidarity rally” after the fraternity house was vandalized and a paper replica of a Torah was destroyed in an incident students are calling a “blatant act of anti-Semitism.”
The vandalism occurred on Saturday night at the on-campus housing for the Tau Kappa Epsilon, a fraternity with a number of Jewish students as members.

“This weekend the on-campus house of the Alpha-Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon was broken into, vandalized and Jewish texts were desecrated,” posted the fraternity.

On Friday, Biden was on his way to meet Pope Francis, traveling in an 85-car motorcade, when WaPo’s Chico Harlan captured that massive fleet of vehicles involving multiple gas-guzzling limos, SUVs, and a line of vans.
