“Unity” Government Fails in Israel, New Elections Slated for March

The State of Israel is now looking forward to an unprecedented fourth general election in the space of two years after a bill that would have avoided the dissolution of Israel’s legislative body, the Knesset, failed to pass on Monday night. The legislation would have avoided a December 23 national budget deadline by extending the deadline to January 5.

The bill failed by a 49-47 vote, with four members of the Blue and White/Likud Party ruling coalition voting against keeping the current Knesset operating. The failure of the bill assures a new general election in Israel on March 23 of next year. It also signals the end of the “Unity” government formed under the leadership of the Likud Party’s Benjamin Netanyahu and the Blue and White Party’s Benny Gantz.

After the bill failed, one member of the Knesset (MK) announced that she was leaving the Likud Party to join the New Hope Party formed by another former Likud member, Gideon Sa’ar, earlier this month. MK Michal Shir announced her defection shorty after the vote on Twitter.

“I am at peace with my decision to do the least I can to end this embarrassing show of a stuck and conflicted government which is holding an entire country hostage for political seats, and therefore I will resign from the Knesset and join ‘New Hope’ led by Gideon Sa’ar,” Shir wrote.

Trump Kicks COVID Bill Back To Congress; Demands $2,000 Stimulus, Shreds Lawmakers Over Mountain Of Pork

President Trump appeared to threaten to veto the COVID-19 stimulus package that Congress passed almost 24 hours earlier, telling lawmakers to boost checks for Americans to $2,000 as well as “get rid of wasteful and unnecessary items” in the spending bill

Trump said “throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked COVID relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left wing agenda and influence the election…”

“it’s taken forever” to get a package and the bill passed “is much different than anticipated.”

“It really is a disgrace,” he added.

Then reeled off a list of disgusting ‘pork’ (read the details here) that has been piled into this record-breaking 5,593 page bill.

Then he took a shot at Biden and the election

“Send me a suitable bill or else the next administration will have to deliver a COVID relief package and maybe that administration will be me and we will get it d

Nuns at German Children’s Home Sold Boys to Priests and Politicians

  • The victim, now 63, was just five when he joined the children’s home in Speyer
  • He said he was raped around 1,000 times before leaving the home in 1972
  • Darmstaft Social Welfare Court awarded the man with compensation over abuse

Catholic nuns running a children's home in Germany pimped out boys to priests, politicians and businessmen who would rape the children, according to a victim who has won a compensation battle

Catholic nuns running a children’s home in Germany pimped out boys to priests, politicians and businessmen who would rape the children at sex parties, according to a victim who has won a compensation battle.

Darmstaft Social Welfare Court awarded the man, now 63, compensation after he detailed how nuns dragged him to be abused by priests and powerful men at parties, starting at age five. They paid the women for doing so.

The victim, who remains anonymous, said he was raped around 1,000 times during his time at the home in the 1960s and 70s, alongside other boys.

The Catholic Church paid the man 15,000 euros in compensation and 10,000 euros for therapy costs alongside a victim’s pension.

‘But what’s the use of the money?,’ the victim, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, asked. ‘My marriage is broken. My bones, liver and kidneys are too.’

‘For victims of abuse, taking legal action is associated with considerable psychological stress,’ said Judge Andrea Herrmann from the Darmstadt Social Court.

Since 2010, the Catholic Church has faced a number of cases of abuse. An internal investigation into abuse in 2018 revealed abuse involving 1,670 clerics and 3,677 victims between 1946 and 2014. Read More

French prosecutors probe anti-Semitic tweets targeting Miss France runner-up

French prosecutors on Monday opened an investigation into a torrent of anti-Semitic social media messages aimed at the runner-up in the latest Miss France competition.

April Benayoum, 21, who holds the title of Miss Provence and competed for the national crown on Saturday, was the subject of hate messages after she said at the event that her father is of Israeli origin.

The insults, one of which read “Hitler forgot about this one” and another “Don’t vote for a Jew,” drew instant condemnation from politicians and associations.

“I am deeply shocked by the flood of anti-Semitic insults against Miss Provence,” Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said. “We will not let this stand. Shame on the authors.”

UK Economy Still in a Deep Hole

BOE chief economist, Andy Haldane, remarks to Guardian newspaper

  • UK jobs support should end only when virus crisis is over
  • Economy still in a hole, and the hole is still deep
  • Hopeful of a rapid bounce in activity thanks to the vaccine
Some token remarks really by Haldane. The full interview here.
As mentioned previously, the BOE has their hands tied by the Brexit saga at this point in time. While further easing measures are imminent, they still have to time it correctly. Read More

Scientists, MPs Ask “Where Is Evidence Of 70% More Contagious Mutant COVID?”

Given the “plunge” in stocks (Nasdaq is down less than 1%) and headlines blaring of COVID “mutations”, @KizzyPhd decided to ‘clarify’ some science before all hell breaks loose (which judging by the London exodus, it already did) for no good reason. She begins…

You are going to read and hear about a million and one variant viruses, because viruses mutate by nature. It’s scary, I know. But, a couple of amino acids is not the same a whole whole new virus strain in the way that we’ve been taught to think about flu.

What is happening, often times, is selective pressure. As the virus transmits it learns how to be better at transmitting. This is why you hear “circulating faster than last variant”…

But, don’t get in a panic over it. There will take a large amount of genetic diversity to completely make the current vaccines useless… And, here is why:

Unlike monoclonal antibody therapies, vaccines (especially those using the whole spike protein) make polyclonal antibody responses. This means that the antibodies your vaccinated body will make will be able to bind the coronavirus spike in multiple places… not just one.

Progressive Groups Push Biden to Tap Accused Iranian Lobbyist for Top National-Security Role

As an Iranian national, Trita Parsi probably cannot get security clearance, say experts

A coalition of progressive foreign-policy groups is pressing President-elect Joe Biden to hire an Iranian national accused of lobbying for the Islamist regime for a senior administration role that a non-U.S. citizen would likely be ineligible to hold.

As Biden forms his future cabinet, groups on the Democratic Party’s far-left flank are organizing to pressure him into hiring a roster of individuals who would typically be left out of the White House.

The roster includes foreign-policy hands who have pushed for increasing American diplomacy with Iran and reducing cooperation between the United States and Israel.

The list of more than 100 staff recommendations was first reported by Politico, which declined to publish it in full. The Washington Free Beacon obtained a full copy of the list. Read More

Horgen never returned after going for a run on Sunday afternoon and her body was discovered overnight with signs of violence on it. Police are investigating a possible terror motive behind her death.

Horgen’s husband, Binyamin, recalled his wife as “so full of life and light and love for everyone, and all this was cut short in an instant.”

“There are no words,” he added. “Who could do such a thing?” Read More
