UN: Afghanistan on Brink of ‘Humanitarian Catastrophe’

Reuters News: U.N. agencies on Friday warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan as Taliban advances drive tens of thousands of people from their homes amid spreading hunger.

Insurgents have taken control of the second- and third-biggest cities as Western embassies prepared to send in troops to help evacuate staff, although the United Nations said its 320 staff members would remain.

” … So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him.” Rev. 6:8

“We fear the worst is yet to come and the larger tide of hunger is fast approaching… The situation has all the hallmarks of a humanitarian catastrophe,” the World Food Programme’s Thomson Phiri told a U.N. briefing.

More than 250,000 people have been forced from their homes since May, 80 percent of them women and children, the U.N. refugee agency’s Shabia Mantoo said. Many reported extortion by armed groups on the way and having to dodge improvised explosive devices along major roads.

Thousands of people are rushing from rural areas to the capital Kabul and other urban centres in search of shelter, another U.N. official said.

“They are sleeping in the open, in parks and public spaces,” Jens Laerke, spokesman of the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. “A major concern right now is simply finding shelter for them. Read More

Obama Variant: Martha’s Vineyard Hit with Coronavirus Spike After Superspreader Birthday Party

Breitbart: The island of Martha’s Vineyard experienced a spike in coronavirus cases this week after President Barack Obama’s 60th birthday party last Saturday.

The Daily Mail reports that 74 people on Martha’s Vineyard have tested positive for the virus — the highest number of cases in a week on the island since April.

“That the triumphing of the wicked is short,
And the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment?” Job 20:5

Hundreds of people attended the former President’s 60th birthday party at the Obama mansion on Martha’s Vineyard, including a swarm of A-list celebrities. The guest list included Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Tom Hanks, H.E.R., John Legend, and Alicia Keys.

Photos of the party showed many of the guests without masks, mingling, drinking, and dancing in close quarters.

The Tisbury boards of health spokesperson Maura Valley told the Daily Mail it was “a little too early” to know whether the boost in cases was a direct result of Obama’s birthday party, but cases continue to rise following the event.

Prior to the party, Obama and his staff tried to claim the event would be “scaled back” with just close family and friends as a result of the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, but it was still a big party, with 300-400 people attending.

The Daily Mail also reported that six staffers tested positive at the Harbor view Hotel, where some of the celebrities attending the party stayed. Read More

British Govt Surges 600 Troops Back Into Afghanistan to Evacuate UK Citizens

The British government is surging hundreds of soldiers back into Afghanistan, ostensibly to help evacuate some 4,000 people with British citizenship who are still in the Islamic republic.

Taliban fighters have rapidly conquered vast swathes of the South Asian country, including multiple provincial capitals and the historic capital of Kandahar, since the Western powers began withdrawing in earnest — a collapse which seems to have surprised London and Washington D.C. with its speed and scale.

“A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.” Proverbs 18:6 ESV

“I have authorised the deployment of additional military personnel to support the diplomatic presence in Kabul, assist British nationals to leave the country and support the relocation of former Afghan staff who risked their lives serving alongside us,” the British Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace, has announced in response to the disaster.

“The security of British nationals, British military personnel and former Afghan staff is our first priority. We must do everything we can to ensure their safety,” he added.

Just days ago U.S. President Joe Biden said the Western-backed regime in Kabul have “got to fight for themselves, fight for their nation,”

Woke Capitalism: Steve Forbes Rebukes American Express over Critical Race Theory Training

Breitbart: Steve Forbes criticized American Express (AmEx) for an internal “anti-racist” program that described capitalism as racist and deployed the common tropes of Critical Race Theory (CRT).

“These things have very real consequences,” Forbes told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo. “I wonder if AmEx is going to bring in people to talk about the virtues of free markets and how it enables people, as Lincoln put it, to improve their lot in life.”

“That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.” Job 8:13

The Fox segment followed an opinion piece in the New York Post by Christopher Rufo on the AmEx training:

American Express, which made a $2.3 billion profit last quarter, invited the great-grandson of the Nation of Islam’s founder to tell its employees that capitalism is evil.

It was part of the credit card giant’s critical race theory training program, which asks workers to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities, then rank themselves on a hierarchy of “privilege.”

Maria Bartiromo Says Coronavirus 'Originated In A Wuhan Lab'

Bartiromo pointed out the irony that this message was adopted by a credit card company that made $2.3 billion in profit last quarter. Read More

Europe: Mass Protests Against Covid-19 Vaccine ‘Passports’

Gatestone Institute:

Protests are erupting in cities across Europe in response to government efforts to impose so-called Covid passports, documents that show proof of immunization against Covid-19. The passports, which effectively reward the vaccinated and punish the unvaccinated, have sparked a heated debate over the constitutionality of government attempts to force people to get vaccinated.

It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness,
For a throne is established by righteousness.” Proverbs 16:12

In the last two weeks alone, hundreds of thousands of people of all political persuasions have gathered in at least 300 European cities to protest government overreach and to defend civil liberties. So far, the protests have not had the intended effect of reversing government policies, but they have highlighted that Europeans are thoroughly divided on the issue of Covid vaccines.

Some governments have tried to discredit the protesters by describing them as “anti-vaxxers,” “negationists,” “Covid deniers” — and much worse. Judging from the large number of banners with the words “Liberty” and “Freedom” that have been present at the events, it seems safe to conclude that many if not most of the marchers simply want freedom of choice. Many appear concerned that governments will use the current Covid-19 restrictions as a precedent to restrict other freedoms in the future.

Protests in France, Germany and Italy over Covid passports

Critics of the Covid passports say that they are being used by governments to compel vaccination at a time when immunization efforts in many European countries have stalled, presumably due to public apprehension about the unknown risks of Covid vaccines. Read More

Tech giant Amazon gets $10 billion taxpayer-funded contract to help NSA spy on American citizens

Big League Politics: Tech giant Amazon has received $10 billion in a taxpayer-funded federal contract to help the blatantly unconstitutional National Security Agency (NSA) illegally spy on American citizens.

In another example of how Big Tech supremacy hurts the freedoms of the American people, Amazon signed the contract “WildandStormy” to provide cloud computing services for the spying monolith that has made a mockery of the 4th Amendment.

And from the perilous pestilence.” Psalm 91:3

Loudoun County VA School Board Approves Trans Students in Opposite Sex’s Sports Teams, Locker Rooms

Breitbart: The embattled Loudoun County School Board voted 7-2 on Wednesday to approve transgender guidelines that will give students who believe they are the opposite sex access to school facilities, groups, and sports teams of their biological counterparts.

The new guidelines, which take effect immediately, also mandate that teachers address their transgender students by their preferred names and pronouns, according to a report by the Washington Post

“Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves” Romans 1:24

“Tonight’s a difficult night for our community,” said conservative school board member Jeff Morse, who voted against the transgender policies, which he called “divisive, anti-family, anti-privacy,” and “anti-teacher.”

People hold up signs during a rally against "critical race theory" (CRT) being taught in schools at the Loudoun County Government center in Leesburg, Virginia on June 12, 2021. - "Are you ready to take back our schools?" Republican activist Patti Menders shouted at a rally opposing anti-racism teaching that critics like her say trains white children to see themselves as "oppressors." "Yes!", answered in unison the hundreds of demonstrators gathered this weekend near Washington to fight against "critical race theory," the latest battleground of America's ongoing culture wars. The term "critical race theory" defines a strand of thought that appeared in American law schools in the late 1970s and which looks at racism as a system, enabled by laws and institutions, rather than at the level of individual prejudices. But critics use it as a catch-all phrase that attacks teachers' efforts to confront dark episodes in American history, including slavery and segregation, as well as to tackle racist stereotypes. “It’s so unneeded,” Morse added. “Because if you are a [Loudoun] student today you are protected from bullying, harassment and abuse.” Read More

US Sends Troops to Evacuate Afghan Embassy Staff Amid Taliban Gains

(Taliban car bombing Kabul Aug 4)

New York Post: The Biden administration said Thursday it’s sending troops to Kabul to help evacuate US Embassy staff amid rapid Taliban gains in Afghanistan.

US officials believe the Taliban could retake Kabul within months of President Biden’s Aug. 31 deadline for removing most US troops from Afghanistan, though Biden insists that’s not inevitable.

“And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them” Rev. 9:16 KJV

“We are further reducing our civilian footprint in Kabul … to a core diplomatic presence in the coming weeks,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a press briefing.

Price would not specify how many people will be evacuated or how many troops are participating in that mission.

The Wall Street Journal reports that thousands among the 5,000 US civilian and military personnel at the embassy and nearby international airport will leave Afghanistan. Read More
