Kabul Airport Gates Are Closed, Taliban Confiscating U.S. Passports

Breitbart: The Kabul airport gates are reportedly closed Saturday, as additional details indicate the Taliban is confiscating U.S. passports.

“All of the entrance gates to the airport were closed on Saturday morning because of the dangerous situation,” the New York Times reported, adding that the U.S. embassy in Kabul is advising evacuees not to travel to the airport in light of “security threats.

“I got to the gates and was about to show my passport, but the Taliban got it, and he said you are not allowed to go through and wouldn’t give it back,” one Afghan American on the ground told the Post. “I was lucky a U.S. marine was right there and forced him to give it back.”

Former Navy SEAL Ephraim Mattos, who works to evacuate people on the ground, also confirmed the reports to the Post.

“U.S. passports, driver’s licenses — they are confiscating those pieces of documentation from American citizens,” said Mattos. “They lose proof of who they are, and this has happened on multiple occasions in multiple places”:

Security Alert – Embassy Kabul, Afghanistan (August 21, 2021)

U.S. Embassy Afghanistan:

Because of potential security threats outside the gates at the Kabul airport, we are advising U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S. government representative to do so.

“But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many” Daniel 11:44

U.S. citizens requesting assistance in departing the country who have not yet to completed the Repatriation Assistance Request for each traveler in their group should do so as soon as possible.  Spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens in Afghanistan who are awaiting immigrant visas should also complete this form if they wish to depart.  Do not call the U.S. Embassy in Kabul for details or updates about the flight. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options.

We will contact registered U.S. citizens as the security situation changes to provide further instructions.

Actions to take:

  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times, especially in large crowds.
  • Follow the instructions of local authorities including movement restrictions related to curfews.
  • Have a contingency plan for emergencies and review the Traveler’s Checklist.
  • Monitor local media for breaking events and adjust your plans based on new information.
  • Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program(STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
  • Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter.

A source tells me, “Situation [in Afghanistan] is rapidly deteriorating… We’ve had Americans get beaten throughout the night.” One of them, an American woman, was beaten “twice” even though she was carrying a U.S. passport.

French rebel as grocery stores begin demanding COVID passport

LifeSite News: Over the past few weeks, France has extended COVID pass requirements to nearly all basic venues including bars, cafés, restaurants, cinemas, trains, stadiums, and gyms. Supermarkets are the latest addition to this list.

Some French supermarkets are now requiring their customers to show a COVID pass before entering.

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads” Rev. 13:16

The measure is sparking much controversy as a video showing police blocking the entrance of a supermarket to a group of people has immerged on Twitter.

Over the past few weeks, France has extended COVID pass requirements to nearly all basic venues including bars, cafés, restaurants, cinemas, trains, stadiums, and gyms. Supermarkets are the latest addition to this list.

This week, some French supermarket chains have announced that they are now requiring customers to show a valid COVID pass before entering stores whose surfaces exceed 20,000 square meters (approximately 215,278 square feet), in areas where the COVID incidence rate is over 200 per 100,000 inhabitants. Bennett’s White House visit amid US Afghan collapse – a chance for gains on the Iranian front

Debkafile: Both President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett are counting on alleviating the troubles severely embarrassing them in the five critical days up to their White House encounter on Thursday, Aug. 26. President Joe Biden hopes the US military will drag the faltering Afghanistan withdrawal crisis out of the mud. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett gambles on the massive covid booster campaign curbing the spiraling coronavirus delta figures.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you. Psalm 122:6

In any case, common ground between the two leaders is a priori a scarce commodity They agree only on the need to keep Binyamin Netanyahu from returning to the premiership.  Otherwise, they are at odds on most crucial issues, such as direct action for aborting a nuclear-armed Iran – or military escalation as a rule; how to, resolve the Palestinian issue, the status of Jerusalem and Jewish West Bank settlements.

How far will the hawkish, right-wing prime minister line up behind the practice initiated by Foreign Minister and alternate PM Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz of “lining up with the Biden administration” on all security issues? The two are on the phone to Washington before embarking on any security operation. Israel has accordingly been prevented from punishing Iran for last month’s drone attack on the Mercer Street merchant ship or settling accounts for Hizballah’s s 19-rocket barrage in the first week of August.

According to DEBKAfile’s political sources, President Biden expects Bennett to go along with the Lapid-Gantz line. But up to what point? Read More

Fed officials will seek to avoid a tantrum as they keep ‘taper talk’ going at Jackson Hole

CNBC: The Federal Reserve’s efforts to reverse its easy policy will be a dominant theme for markets in the week ahead, as central bankers gather in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The central bankers may even look relaxed against the backdrop of the Grand Tetons in the crisp late August air. But they will be under pressure to gently steer toward less policy support, without creating a market tantrum.

Third Seal: Scarcity on Earth

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales” Rev. 6:5

Federal Reserve officials, in numerous recent speeches and interviews, have already managed to speed up expectations for when they could begin to slowly pare back their $120 billion a month in bond purchases. More of that talk is expected at their annual symposium, which begins Thursday.

he Fed chairman’s speech is typically the highlight of the annual event, and various Fed chairs have used Jackson Hole to send important messages. The question is whether Jerome Powell will channel his speech Friday morning to provide more details on how the Fed could begin to unwind its bond buying, and even whether he is personally ready to embrace it.

FBI Shoots Down Dem ‘Conspiracy Theory’ That Jan. 6 Capitol Riot Was Pre-Planned

Zero Hedge: Many Democratic leaders, including – most notably – Nancy Pelosi refuse to let go of the notion that the Jan. 6 “attack” on the Capitol was a terror attack on par with 9/11 or the Pulse nightclub shootings. Why? Because, they claim, the whole seige was planned and perpetrated by shadowy militia groups like the Oath Keepers, working in concert with Republican lawmakers.

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Luke 12:2

Dems also blame President Trump for instigating the incident (the supposed reason behind Twitter and Facebook banning his accounts).

But according to a scoop from Reuters published Friday, prosecutors who once planned to try and lay charges of sedition, conspiracy or other serious offenses against members of the Oath Keepers and other militia groups have been stymied by the reality of what actually happened. And now that the first (surprisingly stiff) jail sentences have been handed down, the FBI has apparently determined that there’s “scant evidence” to suggest that the events of Jan. 6 resulted from an “organized plot”, according to a scoop published by Reuters.

In other words, it’s a repudiation of prosecutors’ claims that “trespassing plus thought crime = terrorism”.

The FBI tells Reuters that “95%” of these cases are “one offs”. And even among the “5%” who were more organized, there is still no evidence of a “grand scheme” to overthrow Congress and install President Trump for a second term.

Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.

“Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases”

Taliban Hunting For U.S. Allies, Screening Names, Americans ‘Injured And Stopped from boarding planes

Daily Wire: The Taliban is screening paperwork at checkpoints outside the Kabul airport, NBC News reported Friday, searching for Americal allies and others who worked for the coalition, and the situation outside has deteriorated into a “disaster,” even as the United States persists in demanding that Americans find their own way to the airport for evacuation — and claims from the Pentagon that Americans are “not being impeded” on their way out of the country.

These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood” Proverbs 6:16-17

Video posted to social media shows the “disaster” outside Kabul airport — a crowd being tormented at a Taliban “checkpoint” with soldiers whipping and beating those in line to leave, including a woman clinging to a baby.

Pilots seek restraining order against United Airlines’ ‘unlawful, life-threatening, vaccine-mandate’

LifeSite News: The pilots assert in their lawsuit that United Airlines’ vaccine mandate places them at a significant risk of harm with enhanced possibility of heart failure and clotting while working at high altitudes, endangering the numerous souls aboard their aircraft.

A group of United Airlines (UAL) pilots have petitioned a Florida Court seeking a temporary restraining order against the company’s vaccine mandate which they see as dangerous and life threatening not only for themselves but for their passengers.

The 18 pilots —who have a combined total of roughly 200 years of military aviation and 440 years of commercial aviation experience— believe that “United Airlines’ mandate and policies are discriminatory at best, predicated on misinformation or disinformation, and places the pilots and general public at dire risk.”

With 834 aircraft and 67,000 employees, UAL is one of the largest airlines in the world.

An unconscionable ultimatum

In May, United reportedly offered its pilots up to $4,500 as an enticement to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.

As of August 6, UAL pilots risk losing their jobs if they refuse the vaccination, now mandated by the airline. Read More

Did The Fed’s Monetary Policy Experiment Just Fail?

Zero Hedge:

Did the Fed’s “monetary policy experiment” fail? The recent dislocation between consumer confidence and the financial markets may indicate just that.

“U.S. consumer sentiment dropped sharply in early August to its lowest level in a decade, in a worrying sign for the economy as Americans gave faltering outlooks on everything from personal finances to inflation and employment,” – Reuters

However, to understand why I am asking the question, we have to revisit whatBen Bernanke said in 2010 to support the idea of a second round of “Quantitative Easing.”

“This approach eased financial conditions in the past and, so far, looks to be effective again. Stock prices rose, and long-term interest rates fell when investors began to anticipate the most recent action. Easier financial conditions will promote economic growth. For example, lower mortgage rates will make housing more affordable and allow more homeowners to refinance. Lower corporate bond rates will encourage investment. And higher stock prices will boost consumer wealth and help increase confidence, which can also spur spending.”

What he is referring to is known as “Animal Spirits.”

Animal spirits came from the Latin term “spiritus animals,” which means the “breath that awakens the human mind.” Its modern usage came about in John Maynard Keynes’ 1936 publication, “The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money.” Ultimately, “animal spirits was adopted by Wall Street to describe the psychological factors driving investor actions.

Specifically, Ben Bernanke realized that investors would respond to that stimulus and increase asset prices by providing accommodation.

In other words, as long as individuals “believe” the Fed is lifting asset prices higher, they take action buying stocks and driving asset prices higher. Thus, investor actions deliver the desired outcome.
