Former CIA Officer: “The Most Infamous & Devastating Press Conference Ever Held By An American President”

Zero Hedge: Kabul’s streets are clogged with panicked civilians fleeing the Taliban onslaught of the Afghan capital, American chinook helicopters are hovering above the US Embassy with an emergency evacuation in progress, and the national government propped up for two decades by US money and power is negotiating surrender with barely a fight.

US Evacuate Kabul Embassy As Taliban Storm the Afghan Capital

One former CIA officer has observed looking back to Joe Biden’s July 8 Afghan policy speech: “This may become the most infamous — and devastating — press conference ever held by an American President,” wrote CIA foreign operations veteran Bryan Dean Wright on Sunday.

Watch: 100s Of US Citizens Scramble Aboard C-17 As Taliban Ready To Declare “Islamic Emirate Of Afghanistan”

Zero Hedge: Update (1310ET): The situation is Kabul (well all of Afghanistan) has gone from bad to worst case scenario as a Taliban official says they will soon declare the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from the presidential palace in Kabul, the Associated Press reported, after reports of the insurgents entering the premises and taking control of it.

The level of mismanagement is astonishing. With no military background, I could have told you to 1) Ship all military equipment home, 2) Establish a plan to get US civilians & embassy members out in advance & 3) Offer asylum to all of the natives who assisted us during that time.

U.S. Embassy in Kabul Destroying Documents in Anticipation of Withdrawal

PJ Media: Less than a week ago, reports from the Pentagon indicated that the Taliban’s advance across Afghanistan was so rapid that the government wouldn’t survive more than 30-90 days.

Today, that time frame appears to be wildly optimistic. The national government of Afghanistan may not have even 30 hours before the capital of Kabul is overrun.

“He sits in the lurking places of the villages; In the secret places he murders the innocent;
His eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless.” Psalm 10:8

It’s hard to determine if this was an intelligence failure or a political bungle by the president. Either way, the Afghan people are going to pay for the American failure.

Now, all our energies must be directed to getting our people out safely. The president has sent 3,000 troops to protect the withdrawal of the 650 remaining troops and 1500 diplomatic personnel still in harm’s way.

Leaked Audio: DHS Secretary Says Border Crisis ‘Unsustainable,’ ‘We Are Going To Lose’

Daily Wire: In a leaked recording obtained by Fox News, Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas can be heard admitting that the situation at the border is “unsustainable” and that “we’re going to lose” if “borders are the first line of defense.”

The audio was reportedly recorded during a visit Mayorkas paid to the border to view the situation on the ground firsthand. According to official Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics, agents encountered 212,672 illegal immigrants at the border in the month of July — a shocking, 13% increase over the number of migrants apprehended in the month of June.

“A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we’re going to lose and this is unsustainable,” Mayorkas said Thursday in a meeting with border patrol agents, according to Fox News’ Bill Melguin, who came into possession of the audio. “We can’t continue like this, our people in the field cant continue and our system isn’t built for it.”

Mayorkas appears, in the recording, to be reassuring CBP that things will change, though he is clear that agents must make sure that the situation comes under control.

“Mayorkas told the agents that the current border situation ‘cannot continue,’” Fox News reported Friday.“ Read More

Nixon’s “Closing the Gold Window” 50 Years Ago Is Nothing to Celebrate

New American: Just a few days before then-President Richard Nixon announced he was “closing the gold window” on August 15, 1971, the British ambassador came to Washington to demand that the U.S. Treasury redeem some $3 billion worth of paper dollars Britain was holding in exchange for gold. With more than $45 billion in Federal Reserve notes outstanding worldwide and only $10 billion in gold to back them up, Nixon called 15 advisors for a secret meeting to decide what to do.

They will throw their silver into the streets, And their gold will be like refuse;
Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them In the day of the wrath of the Lord … ” Ezekiel 7:19

Out of that meeting came Nixon’s announcement:

Prosperity without war [the Vietnam war was winding down] requires action on three fronts: we must create more and better jobs; we must stop the rise in the cost of living; [and] we must protect the dollar from the attacks of international money speculators….

The … indispensable element … [is] to stop the rise in the cost of living….

Homemakers find it harder than ever to balance the family budget. And 80 million  American wage earners have been on a treadmill … your paychecks were higher, but you were no better off.

So, Nixon took actions that exacerbated and accelerated the very problem he announced he was solving:

I have directed [Treasury] Secretary [John] Connally to suspend … the convertibility of the dollar into gold.

He soothed any concerns people might have Read More

UN: Afghanistan on Brink of ‘Humanitarian Catastrophe’

Reuters News: U.N. agencies on Friday warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan as Taliban advances drive tens of thousands of people from their homes amid spreading hunger.

Insurgents have taken control of the second- and third-biggest cities as Western embassies prepared to send in troops to help evacuate staff, although the United Nations said its 320 staff members would remain.

” … So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him.” Rev. 6:8

“We fear the worst is yet to come and the larger tide of hunger is fast approaching… The situation has all the hallmarks of a humanitarian catastrophe,” the World Food Programme’s Thomson Phiri told a U.N. briefing.

More than 250,000 people have been forced from their homes since May, 80 percent of them women and children, the U.N. refugee agency’s Shabia Mantoo said. Many reported extortion by armed groups on the way and having to dodge improvised explosive devices along major roads.

Thousands of people are rushing from rural areas to the capital Kabul and other urban centres in search of shelter, another U.N. official said.

“They are sleeping in the open, in parks and public spaces,” Jens Laerke, spokesman of the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. “A major concern right now is simply finding shelter for them. Read More

Obama Variant: Martha’s Vineyard Hit with Coronavirus Spike After Superspreader Birthday Party

Breitbart: The island of Martha’s Vineyard experienced a spike in coronavirus cases this week after President Barack Obama’s 60th birthday party last Saturday.

The Daily Mail reports that 74 people on Martha’s Vineyard have tested positive for the virus — the highest number of cases in a week on the island since April.

“That the triumphing of the wicked is short,
And the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment?” Job 20:5

Hundreds of people attended the former President’s 60th birthday party at the Obama mansion on Martha’s Vineyard, including a swarm of A-list celebrities. The guest list included Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Tom Hanks, H.E.R., John Legend, and Alicia Keys.

Photos of the party showed many of the guests without masks, mingling, drinking, and dancing in close quarters.

The Tisbury boards of health spokesperson Maura Valley told the Daily Mail it was “a little too early” to know whether the boost in cases was a direct result of Obama’s birthday party, but cases continue to rise following the event.

Prior to the party, Obama and his staff tried to claim the event would be “scaled back” with just close family and friends as a result of the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, but it was still a big party, with 300-400 people attending.

The Daily Mail also reported that six staffers tested positive at the Harbor view Hotel, where some of the celebrities attending the party stayed. Read More

British Govt Surges 600 Troops Back Into Afghanistan to Evacuate UK Citizens

The British government is surging hundreds of soldiers back into Afghanistan, ostensibly to help evacuate some 4,000 people with British citizenship who are still in the Islamic republic.

Taliban fighters have rapidly conquered vast swathes of the South Asian country, including multiple provincial capitals and the historic capital of Kandahar, since the Western powers began withdrawing in earnest — a collapse which seems to have surprised London and Washington D.C. with its speed and scale.

“A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.” Proverbs 18:6 ESV

“I have authorised the deployment of additional military personnel to support the diplomatic presence in Kabul, assist British nationals to leave the country and support the relocation of former Afghan staff who risked their lives serving alongside us,” the British Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace, has announced in response to the disaster.

“The security of British nationals, British military personnel and former Afghan staff is our first priority. We must do everything we can to ensure their safety,” he added.

Just days ago U.S. President Joe Biden said the Western-backed regime in Kabul have “got to fight for themselves, fight for their nation,”
