The 3 trends putting pressure on companies to begin ESG Governance reporting

CNBC: For public companies that haven’t yet committed to ESG reporting, it can be hard to know where to start. But the increasing pressure to participate—from regulators, politicians and investors— should leave no question about when to start: If you aren’t reporting ESG metrics yet, you are already behind.

A new report by the Nasdaq ESG Advisory Practice captures research on the ESG reporting trends of 800 leading global companies.

“Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet.” Daniel 7:19

“The right time to start ESG reporting was yesterday” says Meagan Tenety, Senior Lead ESG Advisor at Nasdaq, who lead the report. “Today, if you don’t already have something in place either from a regulatory or shareholder’s perspective, you are at risk of being left behind.” The risk is particularly acute for small- and mid-cap companies, Tenety says. “We’re seeing a dearth in disclosure among a lot of companies under a $10 billion market cap.

If these companies grow a little bit over the next couple of years, they could be in rough waters, particularly with investors. Read More

Biden’s promise on Iranian nukes is worthless

JNS: Outgoing Israeli President Reuven Rivlin met with U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington this week and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Rome. The theme of both meetings as far as the Israelis were concerned was happiness with the Biden administration.

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:3 KJV

As far as Rivlin and Lapid are concerned, any problems facing the alliance were the fault of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom both men despise despite coming from different ends of the Israeli political spectrum. Lapid went out of his way to declare that “mistakes were made” by Netanyahu, whose policies toward Democrats he described as “shameful and dangerous.” Rivlin was equally eager to portray Biden as a reliable friend of Israel who should be taken at his word when he makes promises about protecting its security.

That’s exactly what the administration wants to hear even if the attempt to depict the Democrats as having been wronged by Netanyahu is inaccurate. After all, it was former President Barack Obama who undermined the alliance between the two democracies with his appeasement of Iran which Netanyahu was right to oppose. And castigating Netanyahu for embracing the historic tilt of the Trump administration and the Republicans toward Israel is equally senseless.

But dunking on Netanyahu isn’t the real objective of the current Israeli government no matter how much its members may enjoy it. Their goal is to use the change in power in Jerusalem to somehow reset relations with the U.S. Read More

State Dept. Says Passports Can Include Any Gender

Free Beacon: The State Department announced on Wednesday that it will allow passport applicants to choose any sex they prefer, even without medical documentation and if the gender selected does not match an individual’s other forms of identification.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” NKJV

“U.S. passport applicants will now be able to select the gender they would like printed on their U.S. passports, even if the gender they select does not match the gender on their supporting documentation such as a birth certificate, previous passport, or state ID,” the State Department informed Congress on Tuesday night, before publicly announcing the policy change Wednesday. “The Department of State will no longer require medical certification to change the gender marker on U.S. passports.”

The State Department says it is now in the process of updating its computer systems to allow Americans to have their passports include a gender marker “for non-binary, intersex, and gender non-conforming persons,” according to the congressional notification.

The policy shift follows a massive pressure campaign by progressive activists who are seeking wholesale changes to how the American government identifies individuals on their state and federal IDs. The decision is facing pushback from some in Congress who say the State Department is already overwhelmed by a backlog of passport requests that have been held up since the coronavirus pandemic shut down global travel.

The State Department has updated its online passport portal to reflect the shift in policy.

This process of “adding a gender marker for non-binary, intersex, and gender non-conforming persons to these documents is complex and will take time for extensive updates to our information technology (IT) systems,” according to the State Department. “In the meantime, applicants cannot apply for a passport with a non-binary, intersex, or gender non-conforming gender marker.”

Transgender: White House to Denounce GOP Child-Protection Laws

Breitbart: White House officials will stage an event on Wednesday to denounce the popular state bills that are being passed to protect children and athletes from pro-transgender activists, teachers, and Democrats.

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Mathew 18:6

The event will “highlight the hopes, joys, and success of young transgender and nonbinary people across America,” said a June 29 report from LGBTQnation.com.

“Panic Porn Dressed Up As Science” – Exposing The Truth About The Delta Variant

Zero Hedge: Equity futures are in the red Wednesday morning as Dr. Anthony Fauci’s warnings about the supposedly “dire threat” posed by the Delta variant continue to be dramatically amplified by the American media.

“The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.’ Psalm 36:3 KJV

On Wednesday, Bloomberg published the latest in a series of stories effectively re-stating the same facts: the vaccination rate in a handful of deep-red states has substantially lagged the rate in the rest of the country. The lead-in for Wednesday’s story was the fact that the gap between the most- and least-vaccinated states has continued to widen. Though even Bloomberg concedes that “on a national level, the news appears good…the country’s vaccination campaign is among the most successful in the world…”

Source: Bloomberg

One academic quoted in the Bloomberg story, Timothy Callaghan, who studies rural health at Texas A&M, warned that “we’re going to have counties where vaccination is rare and nowhere close to herd immunity, and others where it’s high. We could be headed toward a divided country of haves and have nots.”

They also warned that an analysis last week of COVID cases in 700 counties found that the new delta variant first identified in India (which, according to Bloomberg, is “far more contagious”) has been found more often in less-vaccinated US counties.

But is the Delta variant really “far more contagious” than earlier iterations of SARS-CoV-2?

In a recent piece published by the Blaze, writer Daniel Horowitz explains that the existing data suggests Delta isn’t any deadlier or more infectious than other strains. Horowitz described the warnings from epidemiologists and public health bureaucrats like Dr. Fauci as “panic porn dressed up as science.”  Read More

The Most Splendid Housing Bubbles in America: Holy Moly. June Update

Wolf Street: House prices soared by 14.6% from a year ago, according to the National Case-Shiller Home Price Index, the biggest increase in the data going back to 1987. But it pales compared to the raging mania that has taken hold of individual metros.

Today’s release, called “April,” is based on a three-month average of sales recorded in public records in February, March, and April, of deals made a month or two earlier. So that’s the time frame. The metros here – the most splendid housing bubbles – are in order of the biggest house price increases since the year 2000:

Los Angeles metro:

Prices of single-family houses in the Los Angeles metro jumped by 1.8% in April from March and by 14.7% year-over-year. All Case-Shiller Indices were set at 100 for January 2000. The index value for Los Angeles of 339 indicates that house prices soared by 239% since January 2000, despite the collapse during the Housing Bust, which makes Los Angeles the most splendid housing bubble on this list.

US praises opening of Israeli embassy in UAE

The US State Department released a statement praising the opening of the Israeli embassy in the United Arab Emirates Tuesday.

“The United States welcomes the historic opening of the Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the visit of Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid, for the ceremony hosted by UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week” Daniel 9:27

The United States will continue to work with Israel and the UAE as we strengthen all aspects of our partnerships and work to create a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous future for all the peoples of the Middle East,” the statement said.

Former Intel Chief Calls For “Larger Discussion” On UFOs, Warns They Display Technology US Doesn’t Have

Zero Hedge: Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said that Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP), also known as UFOs, appear to display technology that the United States does not have and could not defend against.

“The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that …”” Genesis 6:4

Ratcliffe made the remarks in an interview on Fox News that aired Saturday, one day after the public release of a much-anticipated government report on UAPs or UFOs (pdf), which found “no clear indications that there is any non-terrestrial explanation” for the aerial phenomena, although it left open the possibility of an alien origin.

Trump nominates Rep. John Ratcliffe to be intel chief — again

“I’m actually glad that there’s a report out there,” Ratcliffe said in the interview, adding, “the bottom line is, unidentified aerial phenomena—many, many cases we’re able to explain it away for reasons like visual disturbances, or weather phenomenon, or foreign adversaries and their technologies, or even our own experimental technologies with certain aircraft and vehicles.”

At the same time, he said were are a number of cases where none such explanations applied. Read More
